help to download dcs blackshark on windows 8.1

i am having a problem getting dcs black shark to run on windows 8.1 can someone please help me i am a rookie at this please and thank you in advance

Depends which version you have - bs1 or bs2

The usual bs2 way is to install DCS World (free download from ED's site) then activate the black shark module in settings there.

If you have the original bs1 that was a standalone product which you download in 2 parts and install.

Ok Edward, that's an original BS dvd from 2008 ish. You may know that DCS has moved on a bit since then but your BS should still be playable. If you get into the sim you could upgrade to the current World but you would need to purchase BS again for the newest version.

I assume you have the software installed. It should give you two icons, one single player, one multiplayer. What happens when you try to start the single player game?

Btw, I don't have windows 8.1 but a quick google suggests others have it running ok.

When you install did it offer to install some other stuff such as directx?

Also, what hardware do have?

I've not installed bs1 for several years so forgive me if I can't remember exactly what it does.

processor is amd e-300 apu with radeon hd graphics 1.30 ghz 4.00 gb of memory

64-bit operating system and i am run direct x 11

Looks like the e300 is a laptop processor and possibly a bit slow for BS, but you'll find out once you get it going.

I'm pretty sure bs is dx9 so you could try and install that. Google for win 8.1 dx9. I found a thread on steel beasts site that describes the process.
