Old PC Boxed Flight Sims Clear Out - some relatively rare - 10/24/18 02:36 PM

My first thought was to go straight to eBay being based in the UK...but I thought I'll give it a chance here first. I'm having a clear out of my old 'big-box' flight sims....UK only as postage overseas is likely to be expensive due to the heavy manuals that most of these include.

All items for sale are complete, flight manuals, key cards, install instructions....it's all there and also see below for photos. I can't guarantee some of the games will work in todays Operating Systems however the CDs are all in good condition. If there is any particular damage to a box I've annotated it accordingly - I'm happy to do a deal and reduce some of the prices if multiple items are selected....PM me with an offer!

P+P not included in the prices but postage is going to be approx £5 for a single item.......

Helo Sims

AH-64D Longbow - (Janes)....... 2 x boxed copies of this sim, one is a 'Limited Edition' - £5

Flashpoint Korea - AH64 Longbow Expansion (Janes) - £5

Longbow 2 (Janes)...... 2 x boxed copies of this sim, both in great condition - £10

Hind (Digital Integration)...... Box has a knock/rip on bottom edge - £5

Team Apache (Simis) - £5

Gunship! (Microprose) - £5

Enemy Engaged Apache Havoc (Razorworks) - £5

Enemy Engaged Comanche v Hokum (Razorworks) - £5

KA52 Team Alligator (Simis) - £5

F22 Lightning II (Novalogic) - £5

F22 Raptor (Novalogic) - £5

Miscellaneous

3rd Party 'Lock On Modern Air Combat Manual'....this was the venture by Nic Cole (RIP) who had the idea of a payware 3rd party manual to go with the first Lock On game due to the demise of big box software and the big manuals that we all know and love. This is copy number #486.....please note I did modify the heading tabs from the right hand side to the top otherwise the folder wouldn't close properly. All pages are present and in great condition. £7

Gave me the fuzzies too. That is an awesome looking manual right there. Wish I would have kept all my boxes. I don't know if he's still around or where he's located but member "Pretzel" had a great collection. I wonder if he would be interested.

Gone are the days of having a true manual to read while your game was installing. I miss those days.

Agreed. One of my grave disappointments with IL-2 Great Battles is that there is no printed/printable manual with aircraft performance details, etc.

For a while, I would buy the strategy guide for those games that had them (even if they were often of mixed utility) . . . but at this point, few if any games even have that.

I'm such a geek I even actually read all the manuals that were included when I bought DOS 5 back in the day...you know, back when an OS actually worked and (more or less) stayed out of your way...I may actually still have those old books somewhere, along with the ones from Office (whatever version that was at the time...). And Windows 3.0/3.1...IIRC, I also had a Windows 286 box set, too.
