As the ROF-forums have about a million sub-forums, could you please be a bit more specific?

I think he refers to Jasta 88 member Longarth posting a nice piece with pictures and news about ROF from the German Flight Simulator Conference.
Here's a link with a Google German to English translation.

I've copied and pasted the bullet-points from the link above. Some interesting stuff here, and seeds of controversy. Bear in mind this is at least third-hand info (another web-site reporting on announcements they heard from devs at a conference). Also it's been run through google-translate.
"On the sidelines of the conference announced neoqb following information on the planned new features in RoF:
The present map will be in two types of terrain geben.Terrain One for the single player mode in high detail on the selection stand.
The second performance in an optimized version of the multiplayer mode.
This split comes to computers with less processing power good.
In the near future SkinTemplates for the painting of the aircraft will be made available.
A renaming of the created profile name is not even possible in the near future.
RoF will soon be the new graphics capabilities of the interface using DirectX 11 (Windows 7). RoF will be even more beautiful.
Neoqb will provide an SDK for the aircraft. Among other things, a plugin for 3DMax is planned.
In the future, the players choose between two game modes can. The original mode and the Modmodus.
In the original mode, only the original RoF files are used and ignored all the players changes to textures and skins.
Modmodus In contrast, the use of all modifications is possible. Neoqb will play in the future, upon request and proven quality testing modifications to its original mode. Neoqb and its partners take no support for modifications used!
Already with one of the next update there will be a modern flight recorder.
In the distant future, a complete revision and expansion of the career mode and the implementation of the 'Dogfightmodus is the Multiplayer.
A new map is in progress."
Distant future, eh??
