Just a signed affidavit that you've remapped your G key! smile

Vanilla Alpha ( no dev builds ), team speak and an acceptance to die often.

P.S should be able to make it for an hour or 2

Ha. No, I've stuck with the default setup and I've hopefully learned from dropping several grenades while everyone was equipping at ammo boxes.

Re: ARMA 3 Wednesday 9PM GMT (10.04.2013 ) - 04/10/13 05:03 PM

I've spent a few hours (I'm slow I know) creating a Mission, not sure if you will be interested in playing it tonight or some other time. Mission:

Blue Forces are trying to escape the Island to the North. It's up to you to stop them. You have access to a captured, unarmed Helo to scout for the ground forces. Takes up to 19 people.

If it goes well I may try and create it for Iron Front (with the use of AA) 50cal attack

See you tonight hopefully.

LOL, that sounds quite fun, very imaginative! Could be quite a good one to do as a force on force? ( with suffcient numbers ). One side the hunter with Blue having 2 options 1)escape and evasion or 2) blast our way out!!!

Ooops. My mistake, as Hippo has just reminded me I have put 9pm GMT!!! I meant 9PM BST!!

There are 7 of us in here at the moment, everyone feel free to jump onboard.

Good times though, thanks Tiger for hosting. Fudge that mission was nice, hopefully we can play it again next time.

I missed the show again. sigh

One of these days you'll have to play at an inconvenient time for the ~7 of you and more favorable to me. biggrin

Thanks for the game guys. Also thanks to fudge for the mission. ( though I spent most of the game looking at the map! Lol )

Sorry I was'nt able to better achieve the objectives, though the "G" word incident at the start acted as a nice distraction for my tactical ineptitude.

hahaha

Very impressed with the game last night - many thanks.

What's happening on Saturday? Is there a regular SimHQ Arma 3 session(s)? (Never really got into Arma 2).

Thanks yet again for a fun time. I now know from the last mission that I wouldn't make it as a taxi driver; I had no idea where I was supposed to go, so just followed the crowd.

Re: ARMA 3 Wednesday 9PM GMT (10.04.2013 ) - 04/11/13 01:29 PM

Hehe, the G incident did help with extended planning a bit, though I think everyone though they were Bravo confused. Didn't help too much that the Tasks / Notes didn't seem to appear on my screen at least, will have to look into that. I also think I made the squads too large for the Ifrits, leading to a few guys running between the vehicles. I'll see if I can get a V0.2 up and running soon.

Considering the lack of direction and information given I feel you did a pretty good job leading there Ratcatcher, and Mugwump did really well to document where the Hunters were while flying, somehow managing to get markers on the map.

Hippo on the Saturday nights we play Iron front for a few hours, then we move on to Arma 3 for a bit after that. It's not really an official game event, hence little info on the site, but it's currently the time to get some A3 Alpha in. It's good fun, be great if we see you there for Iron Front as well biggrin

Re: ARMA 3 Wednesday 9PM GMT (10.04.2013 ) - 04/11/13 02:04 PM

Ah yes, so sorry for my G key failure forcing a restart. I determined that after I remapped my G key, I pressed the Back button on the menu... which was a mistake as it undid all my edits. I should have pressed OK to make sure they were saved.

I use T, same as Fastgrenade.

Enjoyed finally getting to play a bit of A3. My AI profiling seemed to be effective. I was pleased with the accuracy and engagement characteristics of the AI on the missions with it.

Re: ARMA 3 Wednesday 9PM GMT (10.04.2013 ) - 04/11/13 07:12 PM

Thanks Fudge you really are too kind! I enjoyed the challenge but felt a little overwhelmed trying to work out what the heck was going on! I completely lost track of who was in which team. I should have written down the teams to get it clear in my mind.

Couple of things that puzzled me, but first off I have to also congratulate Mug for doing a sterling job in the air! My first issue was trying to look up the grid ref's. As the vertical grids kept disappearimg! Afterwards I went back into the map screen and worked out that you had to zoom out to get the vertical numbers. Cant remember that happening in previous ARMA's, but luckliy Mug was able to mark his map... while flying!

Second thing was the actual mission itself. Not sure if I read it wrong or whether it was just variation on the day but I thought it had said that the vehicles would be heading north to get off the island. Which I took to mean literally the northern shore, hoewever the last vehicle actually exited west at the airport. Which I wasnt expecting. If I'd known the airport was in play I would have "tried" to deploy my troops differently... and I'm sure things would have gone much much better, honest wink

I did manage to bounce off of one tree while trying to update the map. Thankfully ArmA3's collision damage is quite forgiving at the moment and the heli took no damage.
