This has to be one of the best models for a flightsim ever...

It is absolutely UNBELIEVABLE!!

Talk about photorealisme. No cartoonlike textures. Amazing VC's.
Their DC 3 eventually made it to CFS2, let's hope this one gets to fly in CFS3.
It's payware (donationware to be precise), but worth the money so it seems.

"The Mid Atlantic Air Museum's prize-winning B-25J Mitchell, 'Briefing Time', has been faithfully replicated as an add-on package for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002 by award-winning designers Bill Rambow, Jan Visser, Fred Banting, and Rob Young. The aircraft's exterior and interior feature "extreme photo-realistic" textures derived from thousands of digital photographs. The stereo sounds of the mighty Wright Double-Cyclones were recorded in the real plane, and 'BT's flight performance has been painstakingly reproduced in the simulation's flight model so you can fly her "to the numbers", and we even provide those: The checklists, and the reference and specification pages are extremely detailed, covering every phase of flight in both normal and emergency operations."

When the program uses very few ressources on the Flight model because it is ridiculously simplified then, yes, there's room for eye candy like this.

Now thats what a B25 upper gun turret station should look like in CFS3, not like the one Billy Gates dog did for the CFS3 artwork team.

Really puts the CFS3 artwork team to shame I think.

That quite simply put is stunning.
WOW is right! Major kudos to that development team.

Sorry, no CFS3 models.......

At this point only FS 2002 and FS9 when it becomes available. The team
hasn't ruled out a version for CFS but the port is a major effort so it's
not likely with all the other projects in the mill.

Sorry to disappoint you.

Just joking of course. \:D

This post is just about what the future holds for us simmers. Whether you fly IL-2, FS2002, CFS3, SF1...it doesn't matter does it?

I fly FS2002 ,IL-2, CFS2 and 3, and soon FB, so I am happy to pay for these kinds of add-ons. I am not a one-sim guy, and this is excactly the reason why...

The transition to CFS3 is indeed a mayor one. Perhaps others (like Bear and his 1% team) can assist in the port over without losing the donationware principle, which I think is a noble one...

It is not ruled out, nor was their DC-3, and that made it to CFS2...

Nice looking but I flat out REFUSE to buy addons like this, especially at that price. I really hate the FS2002 community. You see guys going out of their way creating new planes for IL2, rewriting code for BOB, and everything that's been done in EAW and then go over to FS2002 and watch how everyone tries to make a buck. Really kinda makes me sick.

There's so many spectacularly mind blowing freeware addons for FS2002 - the payware ones are even more mind blowing.

I have numerous freeware addons of photoreal ground scenery and planes with photoreal cockpit interiors. I brought screenshots into work one day alongside real photos and asked people to guess which was real and some of them guessed that the SIMULATOR pictures were real!!!

And I doubt photoreal cockpit interiors will be practical anytime soon for CFS3 because in FS2002 you can have FPS go down to 10 and it's still plenty flyable - in CFS3 you need FPS a lot better than that.

FS doesn't consume RAM the way CFS3 does either - but that could very well change with the next version.

Here you are perfectly right. We just do it partially. Simplified in many ways. And I never told that we do exact copy of each single aircraft...isn't it? Simply if we'll calculate say only airfoil in terms of all real time calculations - we'll get freezed PC. So we are going for some predifined terms again not table and we simplify the formulas to the level that possible to use in real time on a current PC together with other real time calculations. That is only the right way for the current moment of the simulation word if we'll speak about simulator that is able to work on home PC, but not to use the separate restricted computers for different tasks like for big military simulators of single aircraft.

Perfect way when all _real_ time calculations will be possible to handle in one PC. For that thing its still long way""""

So y'all gonna get the B-25 too

Can't really imagine anyone who likes WWII aircraft & flight sims in general knocking that B-25, its has to be the best model I have ever seen in a sim. As for it looking like a painting its a full 3D visual than will pan around you, maybe some spilled coffee and candy wrappers would add to it.

Also I would not be all that worried about its ability to fly correctly even at well over 15,000ft

More stuff comming along that will become pretty much standard

click on the word ZERO then on the zeros picture. Really good 3D cockpit for CFS3.
