I am going to buy in a few days the X45 HOTAS system. I've read in this forum that the software which comes with its install cd does not support all the functionalities (rotary knobs...). I use the Win98SE OS.

Should I still use this piece of sotware or should I download the new one on Saitek's web site ?

The SST software included with your X45 provides full functionality under Win98SE.

What you're reading is the beta software now available for XP which does not provide full functionality though is a big improvement over what was available before.

What many run into is calibration problems with the X45 and SST. I got mine finally calibrated but had to use DXtweak to do it and always afraid I'm going to lose it again and have to go through the process again. Also running two controllers like and X45 and P8000 can cause problems. All you can do is try and if it doesn't work remove SST and go with D's drivers. I have no faith that Saitek will ever correct the situation.
