Me too, before I download the demo.

Although I'm curious to download it now, to check out the performance of the title, as what I've seen and read doesn't bode well so far.

In the meantime, I'm downloading the new realism mod for SWAT 4.

However I'd also like to thank the gentleman, with regards to his attempt at telling me, as to what I should do.

I had erased what might have been interpreted as too terse a comment. But since retained, imho the whole purpose of a freely downloadable demo is to allow the individual to judge for themselves how THEY might like it. User insight comparisons are great and I'm always appreciative of same as well, but at the end of the day I make up my own mind. jmho

Waiting for a good 'snap-review' from someone, ya know, maybe a police officer or someone, that can tell me what they think BEFORE I get home late tonight and attempt to d/l it when everyone is on...

A police officer wouldn't be the person to properly evaluate GRAW. An infantryman, especially a specops guy, would be more appropriate.

Anyway, I want to know what it's like vis-a-vis GR1. That's my barometer, even though I have no baros to measure...

Think he was referring to Magnum, Jedi Master.

"Jedi Master, you go ahead and breach that door and clear that room. We'll be right behind ya..." (Remembering the scene where Mark Wahlberg, the assassin, is clearing a room by himself whilst his associates are standing outside drinking espresso, all the while telling him they are "right behind him" and randomly shooting their pistols...) heheh

I spent 8 years in the Airborne and the sights in this game jerk so much your lucky if you can hit a damn thing.Even with them on target the weapon is way off, again this game makes you feel like another instance where the soldier failed to zero his weapon before combat. The accuracy really is that bad.

Agreed. I think you are right, seems to be a bit too much recoil or "jump"... strangely, there seemed to be less "jump" when not using a scope... But other than that it looks like it may be a pretty decent game. Enemy AI is fairly good, uses cover, attempts to flank, and can be suppressed, and seem to act in a fairly believable manner. You own troops need to be given orders, but seem to do ok.

All this is based on only 30 minutes of play.

Gonna go play this some more, gotta learn the commands, etc., but I'd say it's definitely worth a try for those of you sitting on the fence.

Cheers!

Im not trying to shoot this game down, there really is a lot of good here, the city map seems to be pretty big and there are tactical planning options(a lot like the older rainbow six titles from the overhead map),the AI soldiers seem to act like a real fireteam and cover each other, slice the pie, etc.

I really hope they fix the breathing/jerking problem with the sights.I also noticed like you that the rifle is more accurate when zoomed out which is very strange.

Just remember, in the demo the textures are set at medium, if it would of included high textures, the demo would of probably been over a gig...

the full game will have high textures and AA support, (currently you can select AA in the advance graphic options, but people are claiming that it's not working.

I only got about thirty minutes or so yesterday with it, will be spending a couple of hours today on the demo.

The main thing I don't like so far is 1) why so much yellow? and 2) in the intro, you can see the four ghost walking down the street (which is wrong in the first place), but in the demo, I order follow me, and there never that close, the formations are way to open... how the heck we suppose to support each other when so far apart?

People got to realize 2 other things 1) Don't look at GRAW as GR2 (or 3), look at it as it's own game... it's set in the future for one, and if you ever visit the official Army web site and check out some of there info/articles, you will see alot of this stuff is in development for use. It's a "futurist game". 2) Those saying "no thx" to GRAW, "I'll wait for Armed Assault", dudes, have you seen the screenshots for Armed Assault? Have you read whats included in Armed Assault? I have a feeling Armed Assault is going to require a bigger machine then GRAW. (Just my belief, no evidence.)

I'm loving this demo! GRAW rocks! Thank God, after that horrible, dreadful, R6:Letdown. A true Tom Clancy slower-paced, more realistic tactial shooter.

I don't like the single squad control limit. I also am not crazy about not being able to take over one of the other guys in my squad (is that a limitation only in the demo?). Otherwise, this is a great game.

Things blow up sweet when you toss a 'nade!

I totally agree,

It seems your fireteam lags behind you a good 50 yards before they catch up.They stay back way too far and start to become stragglers.Thats not good because Ive noticed once contact with the enemy starts they are far back and it takes them precious time to get into the action.
