Probably because no other flight sim has modelled it correctly. The tailgunner in the 110 had 2 cannon shell canisters with which to reload the 20mm nose mounted cannons.

And as another poster has pointed out, they should not be able to reload when the tailgunner is dead.

The early models of Beaufighter had the same system. This is described very well in the book "Night Fighter" by C.F. Rawnsley.

I think its interesting that this feature would be modeled in to the game from the start.
The game has changed so much since the first models were done that its not the same game.

The 110 is now the noobie fighter, cant have inop guns on the axis crates when the allied noob rides dont suffer the same concern.

There are several flight concerns i have with the aircraft in the game but at least they started with the best of intentions :}

cheers

It happened in real life, so whether you think it is a bug or not is irrelevant. IIRC, the Hispanos could be reloaded in the Beaufighter and/or Mosquito as well. How easy it was in practice is another matter, but the fact you think it's unrealistic because no other "sim" has modelled it is neither here nor there...

Oh, btw, the guns were drum-fed, so there no "chaining" involved...

can you recomend any books..?
this sounds very intersting..

but i did know that they where drum feed..
but i thought all acces to the guns were infront of the aircraft

I guess most developers regard the modelling of reloading as being an unnecessary hassle that will only marginally increase the fidelity of a sim whilst simultaneously increasing the aggravation factor (110s aren't that easy to fly against single-seaters in the 1st place without running out of ammo and having to reload).

Btw, I'm not sure whether later model 110s - particularly the Gustav - could be reloaded, but since they aren't modelled in WW2OL, it's a moot point...

Maybe CRS indeed is interested to pay attention to details. That is why WWII Online can be called a "Simulator" and the other games "Fantasy games".

I have to agree.

If one ever finds something that would require extra programming to accomplish (like reloading a gun instead of just giving all the ammo at once), and this feature only appears in one game of many - it is better to assume that the one game has done it correctly, because they are the ones that put in the extra work, and no one puts in extra work for no reason.
