Will Red Baron (RBII CD... patched to RB3D) work on Win XP with an Nvidia FX5600? Or is there no point trying?

Does the game not run at all without the Glide wrapper thingimy?

Yes I have searched the archives - conflicting advice over time.

Thanks for your help. \:\)

It does run fine without the glide wrapper, but it won't look very good. The glide wrapper makes it look pretty darn good, and if you add the Hells Angels patch it looks great, buy FCJ and it looks excellent.

Hi,Anthony!

OpenGLid.ini settings changes:
EnableMipMaps = 0
IgnorePaletteChange = 1
WrapperPriority = 2 (or 3)
TextureMemorySize = 4 (or 8)
FrameBufferMemorySize = 16
The latest vid card drivers teamed with the right DX version is a big help - experiment.

Thanks for your replies fellas.

Skidmark (How's the car goin?)
I don't know my way around the Red Baron file structure, but after a Windows Find search I'm guessin' that OpenGLid.ini you refer to is from that Glide wrapper thingimy from Glidos. Is that right?

I tried installing that and it made the terrain look MUCH nicer but the computer seemed to need to read from the Hard Drive and CD a LOT resulting in slow frame rate. Any idea what that is about. Is there anything I should disable in my Nvidia drivers?

Thanks for your help.
