There are problems with installing the Sold Out version under Win XP. Possible solutions are explained here:- http://www.jamrom.com/hellsangels/redbaron.htm I picked up a cheap boxed version of RBII on Ebay and used the patch to upgrade to 3D.

I use WFP installed over FCJ.
I use MissionGen to massage missions. I also use CM11's ability to set campaign dates to move through periods of relative inactivity more quickly while staying in periods of intense air activity longer. This makes my scoring pattern conform to historical aces.
The lucky man is the man who leaves as little to chance as possible.

Western Front Patch. Rens' reduced PL terrain. Greybeard's WFP FM with Zinteck's DM. Steve's WFP gunsounds. Other sounds, (engines, wind), that I took from HA. Tom's Campaign Manager.
I also have a Hell's Angels patch install with the same terrain, Greybeard's FM for stock RB planes.
I use the dgVoodoo Glide wrapper in my Windows folder for all installs.
As ever, Birdbrain

I use only the PL super patch (the one that predated FCJ) for terrain & objects plus Rens aircraft only .vol file, but I mostly fly MMP.
For SP I either use the FCJ or Hell's Angels or Western Front superpatches, each of which is stand-alone and complete. I sometimes add different aircraft sounds, which I culled from several patches. That's strictly personal preference, though and require use of CM11 (as does the date based WFP). Hex

Gee, thanks, but I'm really no expert! We may have "stickies" but no Forum Moderator for SimHQ/RB3D that I know of, so there's no way to do it. The original thread starter here is a good one, I also provide links in my sig for more great newbie info, and made up this quickie reference starter as well: http://www.simhq.com/simhq3/sims/boards/bbs/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=62;t=001278 A truly comprehensive list of everything available for RB3D does not exist.

Might want to change that Wings of valor link. .org is a re-direct to some ad site. This is the link people would want: http://www.wings-of-valor.net I see the original poster is unregistered. Could an admin change it? S!

10x 4 wings-of-valor link, i long time got rb3d old version which was unpatched, now i got patched one, thank you very much
map of fort rucker would be best for combat helly sims, so could be only flight and fight with learning targets without war, so that will more realistic i'm not pacifist, just don't love war and dont love play war either

I am completely new to red baron, can some one point me to a introduction page and recommend the best mods/patches to install?
i will me running the game on a relatively new PC with XP pro and nvidia 7800 sli graphics, will this cause a problem? also i have been told the sold out version of red baron 3d is no good and i should get the origianl sierra version or even download a version for it to work correctly with hte patches and windows xp, can someone let me know which is the best one to use/get? Did you check out the link posted above you? One of the better places to start.
