Has anyone noticed eiter of the following?

1. despite of having your target selected in the HARM page and the in range cue HARMS fall short most of the time.

2. It requires a slight back pressure on the stick to keep altitude. I have recalibated my MS FF2 both manualy and with factory default. I didn't notice this when I was using my Saitek.

I also noticed that the plane is never trimmed. it either has a tendency to raise the nose or to drop it. I also noticed that the Hornet takes off automaticly without pulling the stick. I don't know why.
I will make a F/A-18 OIF profile for my HOTAS and i will use trim statements for the x and y axis, so i can trim the plane for hand off flying.

I think a lot has to do with the altitude you are flying when you launch the HARMs and whether you are "just" getting the in-range cue or are waiting a few more miles before launch. So far I think I have only had one HARM miss it's target but I wait until less than 18 nm and am usually above 10,000 ft. altitude.

Banks, could the take off be simulating the automatic takeoff/ catapult that the hornet uses? I think that this is what was intended. I have to get it to the catapult, hookup, and launch it with the brake key.

Banks,

This was brought up in earlier versions of the simulation. The Hornet takeoff trim with the canted verticals automatically causes the aircraft to rotate as the speed increases.

Thanks guys, that would explain why i don't have to pull the stick during a normal (non carrier) take-off ;\) .

I also wondered about the damage model. Each time my plane was hit by AAA, it enters a flat spin. Seems there is no other way of damage in OIF? Can you loose a wing and spin down to earth?
