No it's not a free add-on. But it can be bought direct for $19.95. Pretty cheap.

Yup that certainly is cheap enough for me to buy

One final question; Is it only going to be available via an online purchase, or will we see it in the stores? (...thinks distribution costs). I still don't trust plastic over the net

The last time I ordered Korea it arrived in a week! I was impressed with the rapid delivery.

I assume it will be available both on line (see http:www.graphsim.com store) and in the stores. Aside from the Open GL (meaning D3D will now work, it has the increased rez 1024x768 that appeared in the settings but was never allowed, and it looks like some cloud effects and more detail in the database. I still do not like the straight line river banks!
