Softball has posted in a few threads that our squad plays weekends. If weekends don't work for you please post here a different day that would.

Also, ICQ is a great application for meeting online. We usually meet here first and then set up coms and IP via the server. My ICQ # 109490070 (shows Viper )

If your new to MP and want to give it a try please come and join us. You don't need to join our squad just to play. If you like it and want to continue then you can join.

If we stick to the COOP campaign missions than addons won't be an issue but they sure add to the game

Post here and give it a try, if you don't like it atleast you tried it

Yeah, Viper is me on ICQ

56K will work, you might notice some lag but it shouldn't be too bad. Most of us are cable

After a few more days practice, I should be ready for prime time

I lose my exhaust smoke in 1.85...is this normal?

I am curious about the dynamic sound pack. Does this improve on the already excellent stock sounds?

Where can this be found?

Thanks!

Check the visual setting for the exhaust.

As far as the Dynamic Sound, it's so much better in my opinion. You hear bullets wizzing by. It's totally awesome.

http://www.uvm.edu/~efisher/DRange_185.zip

What you want to do is make a "backup" folder and place your sound.pbo and config from your bin folder in the new folder incase your not happy.

Then download the new sound file, place the PBO in your res/addon folder and the config file in your bin folder. You will love the difference

TG, he'll need to download the 1.75 complete first and then apply that 1.85 config.bin

here are some shots from last nights MP Samalia mission.

PV at the controls with Shadow, SnapDad, BadKarma and myself.

We could use a few more people in this mission. Any of you new comers up for some OFP this weekend? Take the plunge

Yeah, I think I'd really like to join in this weekend, as long as my schedule cooperates.
I guess I'll check back here later in the week to see if we can come up with a time?

I am interested. What comms program do you use and what add-ons do I need? I am running 1.85 stock right now (with Dynamic Sound).

I sure wish there were more hours in the day so I could devote more time to MP gaming. I did take the next couple days off work, so I can get situated.

That is a great mission. VERY difficult.

It was really a trip when that little bird one time suddenly flipped over as soon as the first person disembarked from it. It slowly wound down and I jumped in (upside down!) and tried to get her righted. No joy. She started making funny sounds, so I jumped out, amazingly didn't get my feet chopped off, and carried on in the mission.

The dirt bike is really neat too. You can come flying off mountains with that thing, getting pretty good air sometimes.

Just FYI.

The server, that the 13th MEU ADDON files are linked to, crashed last night (11/13/02). We are working on a quick solution for this and during the down time are updating the addons as well. I am hoping to get the files linked up by tonight or tomorrow at the latest. Thanks for your patience.

Ooooh, crashed server. Bad!

9:30 sounds good. I've got some of your stuff but not all, hope that server comes up by tomorrow PM! Already have RW.

Sometimes the relaxed vehicle realism can make for some funny incidents! I remember a UAZ going suborbital one time from a large number of satchels.

normally we play on Friday nights around 9:30-10pm EDT. Not sure what the time difference is over there, guessing around 5-6 hours?

We are running resistance up to 1.85, haven't made the jump to 90 yet but it should be soon

In typical Jedi fashion, my weekend went to hell in a lightsaber handbasket.
Father-in-law had a heart attack, next day mother-in-law was also hospitalized for pancreitis and other ailments.
Had to make a 5 hour drive round trip to pick up the stranded dog and watch a shuttle launch and my weekend was gone.
Now with a nice slow week I'm looking to OFP!
You guys let me know when and I'll do my (&@#%@$#%#$ best to be there!!
Hey, at least I got the ICQ thing done.

I just enrolled in the local college. This has severely impacted my play time. I see that you guys play pretty late though. I will shoot you an ICQ so we can better coordinate. I haven't forgotten about you!

Just got too many fingers in too many pies, so to speak. Soon, though. I need to go ahead and patch the game as I am running 1.75. The 1.90 readme says they fixed the exhaust bug (call me shallow), so I will go there next.

I think our group will be going up to 1/90 very soon. We have a vote on it right now, haven't seen or heard any bugs to worry about such as lag.

Hopefully some of the new guys and us can hook up?

Oh, we officially went to V1.90.

Jedimaster,
You are complaining you had to go and see a shuttle launch! Argh! Lucky you, I've read that STS 113 was a superb night launch. It seems worth a few hours off playing OFP, at least to me. How was it?
In april-may of this year, I spent a week waiting in Cocoa Beach, for a shuttle launch many times postponed, and had to go back to France before the shuttle took off...

Back on topic, EDT is 5 hours behind my zone. A bit too early for me in the morning.

Yeah, this year has been especially bad for delays.
Strangely enough, I believe you were here the same time as my friend from Vermont who also was hoping to see the shuttle. He too went home disappointed.

TG, I WILL get into this with you guys this weekend!!!

Naturally.

*sigh*

Perhaps next time.

Oh, I totally forgot about DL'ing the addons you guys use. I'll do that today. I see they're rather large.

Oh, sure, NOW I see you were on Sunday night.

I did DL all the ones on that server Sunday night, though. I don't have Nam yet.
Any chance of something tonight?

I'm not sure if I should laugh or not here.
I never had a chance to even check back here last night.

Ok, so you guys usually play on Saturday nights, right??? Maybe if I plan this out for a few days ahead I can actually get it done!!!

Ah, well then, I guess I'd better set the clock back 24 hours.
Have you updated what files you guys are using yet? I DL'd all those things on that site, but I've yet to install anything.

Um...er...like, I was in a Clone War!!!!

Actually, I don't have the Nam pack yet. I guess I better get that puppy! The funny thing was I was watching TV last night and it was over at 10. I said to myself, "Have to remember to go back online when this is over!"
I did, but I didn't remember why.
So I missed again. Maybe tonight sometime??????

Tim & Donny, we normally have a server set up. The guy running it is off on vacation but is suppose to leave it up for us.

Otherwise one of us with cable will host. It will be kind of hard to meet up with out ICQ due to the fact of posting the private IP on a public board

Well what does the guy that usually runs the server have. And if you need my help hosting just tell me on the board and I can get in touch with you on ICQ. I have an old rig I use for hosting mp games so I can have it running 24/7. Again I have a connection better then regualr cable so I think it would be faster. I know that upload on regualr is 100 something mine 384 k advertised by comcast. Well just offering my services so that we can have a nice smooth game.

Well, I've got my OFP running again, without and importantly WITH the Nam mod working. Haven't tried to play with it yet, but I went into the mission editor and had the units and island so I guess it's ok.
I'm setting an alarm for Friday night!!

Tim, I believe our guy running our server also has a highend connection, believe he's some type of IT guru.

Maybe Softball can comment on that end, the more the merrier to host. My rig has lag when too much is going on... Seeing he is out of town for awhile this would help out alot. I'll see if our CO can get in touch with you. You would have to have the Dynamic Range on the server as well.

OK Jedi, no more excuses

Timdog,

Please contact me via ICQ @ #3834008 or email softball@wings-of-fury.com so we can discuss hosting some OFP.

I believe our current OFP Dedicated Server is about the same maybe a little bit faster. He has 2.5MB+ DL and 768K UL. My home Roadrunner connection is running 3.5MB DL and 384K UL like you, but it is not soley dedicated to OFP, it shares with 3 computers at times. I would not mind testing your connection out with our squad.

Please contact me.

Well, that worked out relatively well. Once we got past the stupid addon mismatch problems and gave up on the dedicated server.
