Some questions submitted by our news contributor, Didier Vanoverbeke:

1. How well will "brown water navies" be represented in Dangerous Waters?

2. When manning a specific station, how well will missile/torpedo hits be modelled when it comes to effects on ship and crew from the player's viewpoint?

3. In Fleet Command, the platform list was quite extensive, even including French mine hunters. Will the list be just as, or more extensive this time around?

4. Will multiplayer games be limited to the player-controllable platforms, or will the player be able to play "under AI supervision," so to speak, where the player is part of a SAG or CVBG?

5. Any plans to include different languages for communication depending on the country?

Here's one: in an MP game, will players be able to jump platforms? Example, can a player command a frigate, then launch as pilot of a helo, do ASW ops, and then return to the frigate?

I'd like to know how the air assets will play like.
Will the player be able to fly the air unit? Or just instuct the pilot on a course. If being the pilot is availible, how simple or advanced will the flight model be? Also, if you can't "pilot" the air unit, how will you control it?

I've got some questions:
- How do I change stations? Will I see a map of the ship or can I walk around?
- Will a General Quarters / Collision alarm be modelled? (pretty please biggrin )
- Can we perform missions other than patrols and sub-hunts? Can I search for survivors in my Orion, or pick them up with my Seahawk?
- Will there be clickable cockpits / panels, or will I have to use my keyboard?

That should do it. Thanks a lot.

Cheers

Mr B

Will be some kind of dynamic campaign? At least some easy to do, like Red Storm Rising style.

Thanks

Will seastate 5 influence your boats (ship) behaviour in shallow water?
Now, in SC you can sail into 150 feet of water with seastate 5 without any problems.

In SC (multiplayer) lag is a problem when you have a lot of missiles and or torpedos is the game, will that be better in DW?

Are we able to see missile launches with radar in DW.

Can we, in multiplayer, have maps in alphabetical order in the Game Room list (not in SC)?

How "mod friendly" will this game be? Will the game be open enough to allow community addon makers to create new ships and aircraft, (including new models, full stations, panels, cockpits, tweaked sonar, etc.) or will they be limited to such things like making custom skins and replacement sounds?

Ok you will be able to fly the aircraft.

At the moment you have the SH-60 and the P-3 Orion.

For MP games I think you'll just be tooling around in whatever playable you have selected but from what Jamie has said on the Subsim forum then you'll get data link info from AI platforms.

He didn't say anything on Seastate but as in SC it will probably affect your sensors the most though we are all very excited over there by it at subsim and so I think it will have this.

Mod friendliness, From what has been said on the forum I think Sonalysts have taken on board what they saw from the SCX improvement mod to Sub Command and they have had a lot of feed back from the main guy in the SCX mod and another guy who made the playable sub changer program as to how modability could be improved.

SCX team get first dibs biggrin LOL

Will be a nice feature if we could have the opportunity to set for the use of floting wire or antenna to communicate between teams in a multiplayer game.

Ohh and..can we have the opportunity to give subs (ships in DW)a name for multiplayer games?
For 688 someone made a mod and every body used it.

Can we have a alphabetical order in de scenarios in Game Room (multiplayer)?
SC is a mes, if your looking for a special map, there is no logic at all.

Yes there is... it's in order of the number of players allowed per scenario. Anyway, Sonalysts have said that they will allow for alphabetical sorting in DW biggrin

No, its not in order of the number allowed, its more in order of the number of playable subs available in that map.
And when you have 4,6 or even 8 playable subs in a one versus one map, they are placed accordingly.

confused What is the difference between what I said and what you said? If there are 6 playable subs in a scenario, then that's the maximum ALLOWED (by the game and the mission writer) to play that scenario.
Still, you just refuted your own statement by saying there was no logic to the list of scenarios... rolleyes

Because, in my explanation there are two players allowed, but (say) six playable subs. Three groups of two subs and the game randomly choose two out the available groups.
Here you can see what happens then.
SW2 = 2 players,SW3 = 3 etcetera.
