IMO, the original NOLF was much better than pt.2. Even though the latter one was no slouch either. I found many of the NOLF 1 gags genuinely hilarious, where as there were not as much of them in the sequel (although the 'Soviet liberation movement' gag punchline almost made me spill my coffee). The first one was properly lengthy, too.

I think I found the first more funny than the sequel as well, but overall the sequel was done better and the story was more fleshed out.

I really wanted to find out what H.A.R.M. stood for!!

Hexen II

I love this game. Dont know if its nostalgia, but I love the atmosphere and the music. Was one of my first own games on the PC.

A close second is SystemShock (yes the "old" one). Its the much better game, but I discovered it a year ago. But no "nostalgia bonus".
It has an immersion that no modern shooter game has with fancy graphics where you have to buy a ridiculous expensive video card to play it.
I hope that was no bashing lol biggrin

Close Combat: First to Fight.

Having teammates that actually do something other than getting stuck in doorways is a plus.

GRAW looks great, and now that Starforce is gone, im actually gonna buy it.

I was incredibly dissapointed by it when it was first released but Battlefield 2 is my favourite closely followed by Day of Defeat:source and Counter-strike:source.

I actually played Hexen II through (well, most of the way) coop with Panzer not that long ago. Some bugs towards the end prevented us from finishing.

OFP (with various addons)

Been on my HD for nearly 5 years now and won't come off until Armed Assault is released. IMHO nothing else comes close!

UT 2004, I still fire it up to blow off steam. It still has bot code that all other bots are measured against, can't wait for UT 2007.

Oh, yeah right, that one. Gamerankings and its expansion Expanion .

Has it actually gotten bettr? You obviously love it. I see it is being re-released under a different name, Semper Fidelis: Marine Corps. Will it have a SP campaign? I don't play online, as I live in the country.

Yeah I love Soeldner, its fantastic, from the demo till now. Never had so much fun. Don't know if it has a SP, hope so for your sake. sigh

You should get it anyway just to practice your tactical skills, you know, in case anyone invades the countryside.

America's Army is the best (current) FPS IMO, becuase it forces players to use different weapons.

When I played OFP Cold War Crisis MP. Every one used the G36 (Same with Rogue Spear, everyone used the PDW). And in order to not be fodder I did also.

However if OFP, had updated graphics and a way to manage realistic squad loadouts. It would by far be my favorite FPS. Huge maps and vehicles. Although the flight models for the heli's and aircraft need work.

Bf2 is too arcade-ish. But it is a great game to mess around with friends.

If the powers-that-be could combine, Falcon 4.0 AF, Americas Army, OFP, and Steel Beasts I would never leave my room.

wow. A very hard decision but if I must choose only 1 then It would be:

first person shooter: Jedi Knight Dark Forces II
tactical squad shooter: Hidden & Dangerous 2

Hexen II COOP is an absolute blast. Too bad we never got to do a 3 player game.
