This is truly something isnt it ? Definitely. The Eastern Front had been neglected for SO LONG in PC gaming and over the past 3 years we've gotten the IL-2 flight sim series and Red Orchestra. I'm a happy camper.

Well Eastern, Western or Med this would be one amazing mod and will be amazing as a standalone game as well. Althought I must confess I would give my left plum to see this team do the western front someday. Sorry

I'm not really interested in multiplayer and if I actually have a reason to buy this, I will do it only for the single player experience and that means AI has to be believable, not like the atrocious AI in Battlefield 1942. At least I hope they are like the ones in Brothers In Arms. Should I consider spending the money ? P.S. :- Do I need UT 2004 for this or is RO 3.2 a standalone program ?

I think you can get UT 2004 now for about $20-25 USD. The AI is pretty good but it's not perfect. I've noticed that both friendly and enemy AI will often kill friendlies. But at least now they will be agressive and take objectives and they are very good about following the orders you give them.

I first tried RO a few releases ago. "It's just going to be Counterstrike in Greatcoats", I thought. On a whim, I decided to try it again last night, as I knew that a lot of work had gone into it.
Let me say now that RO 3.2 has turned into an excellent game. Of all of the WW2 online shooter games that I have played, this one is the only one that is even remotely good. It makes BF1942 look like amateurish hackwork. From the gorgeous graphics to the useful vehicles to the small but relatively unrestricted and realistic maps, it is very professionally done, and the makers can be proud of what they've achieved.
I am normally a rabidly anti-MP gamer; this one, while not making me an MP gaming convert, at least expands the hobby for me in a new direction when I need a change of pace.
Well done.
P.S. The Air Buccaneers mod for UT2004 is also superb; nearly as professionally done, massively creative, and damned funny to play.
