I was wondering if it is possible to have two systems on a LAN play cooperatively against the computer AI. It seems all players need to be human in MP, is this true? Also how extensive is this option on OFP, can you recommend any other games of this type that allow coop against AI.

No co-op in MOHAA, unfortunately. OFP does feature it and is very good at it. Other military titles with multiplayer co-op that I have tried online include Ghost Recon, Deadly Dozen 2, and Hidden & Dangerous, plus the Novalogic Delta Force series.

Non-military co-op shooters include SWAT 3 and the Rainbow 6 series.

Nope, there aren't any bots in MOHAA.
The upcoming standalone addon (oxymoron there!) for RTCW will feature bots and solo gameplay like the multiplayer side.
You can also do this in OFP and Battlefield 1942.

Thanks for the response, even thought it's not what my son will want to hear. We are trying OFP but it's a little to complex for him. Some of the other titles you mentioned I believe are currently in the bargin bins, will take a look. I also posted this same question on alliedassault.com, whew! I got four pages of 4 letter insults between to of the regulars. Glad my son wasn't looking over my shoulder when I was reading the response! Thanks Again for the civil discourse.

are you saying you and your son can't connect in OFP?

Post in the OFP forum and one of us will walk you though. Should be very simple, just post what versions you both are running

For an inexpensive start without excess complexity, the original Delta Force is a lot of fun. There are a lot of missions and a decent and distinct variety of weapons and huge wide-open maps, plus you only need one game CD-ROM to play. The graphics are pretty dated by modern standards, but there's a good amount of gameplay.

We can connect in OFP no problem. He just doesn't have the patience. I just picked up DF2 in the bargin bin. We'll try that for LAN play. I'm surprised at how much fun I am having with this MOHAA. I was never a FPS fan or into the shoot all the bad guys move to the next level kind of games. But... the atmosphere and the visuals of this game have sucked me in. This is a pleasant break from my typical flight simming.
