I can't tell when my missles have locked onto a target.

I'm flying the Sub Kill mission. I'm using Penguins to take out the sub but I don't know when to launch because I don't get a launch cue.

Same with ASRAAMS when trying to take out the cruise missles. Can ASRAAMS not lock onto cruise missles? I never get a lock cue for these either.

I guess I'm use to other sims where you get a nice hummmmmm when the missle is locked

Your radar and DASS MFDs along with the HUD will tell you which target you have 'locked'. Look for the white circle around the target symbol on the MFDs, and for the target diamond around the target square on the HUD.

Once locked, your weapon choice is displayed on the HUD along with the number of weapons remaining of that type.

There is no aural tone for the ASRAAM.

Look on the radar MFD for the weapon range bar extending away from your aircraft symbol. If you fire at maximum range, you can expect a low probability of hitting the target. Try firing at 2/3 to 1/2 of the displayed range. Firing more than one missile improves your chances of killing the target.
