Has this feature been built in? I know we can adapt Game Commander to do this for us, but curious...

Virtual T&A Simulator. You know, you can pick up babes at the base's "O" Club, get them drunk, play strip poker, etc. Game Cmdr is useful because you can just SAY the pickup lines instead of typing them or clicking on them.

PS damn typos! Spell check doesn't know "jedi"

Sorry, was't trying to be a smart ass.

Check out http://www.eurofighter.org .
VTAS is mentioned in the section on avionics and sensors. "Voice Throttle and Stick" ..

Voice recognition is really hard and takes quite a bit of computer power (atleast for dictation programs) so I dont think it would be a good feature.

Dont know how well it worked in, what was it "Silent Hunter"? Some subsim a while back I think.

The fact the Game Commander 2 is such a great product means that no sim maker should bother to do their own internal voice recognition, IMHO, unless they can come up with something that exceeds its capabilities.

jema, you should really check out Game Commander 2 - it truly works as advertised, speaker-independent voice recognition for games. I use it all the time (most recently while playing the space sim Independence War). No longer need you remember complex wingman control sequences or have them take up space in your HOTAS.

Aces of the Deep Commander's Edition..

USAF also has it built in. Aces High uses a licenced version of Roger Wilco. Works great

Hmm, who knows, maybe Eurofighter uses Game Commander

Hm... That "Speaker independant" bit (that I thought had to do with the actuall _speakers_ first) requires a bit of seeing before belifeing. I've done support on voice recognition software and I'll be buggerd if it is anything near independant. Have anyone outside the US tried it?

Still I think I'll preffer to let the only talking I do to my computer include curses and when I want it to do something I'll just push its buttons

I tried the trial version of GC once. It worked quite good even with my German accent.
I felt a bit silly talking to my computer and since my computer is in our living room and my wife already thinks I'm a bit strange for liking these war games, I didn't pursue this much farther but bought a Saitek PC Dash 2 instead (a great product!).
