Hi all!
Are you able to send wingman commands Ala EF2000 or are you on your own (as there are only a limited amount of typhoons...Pairs would be good)
I take it theres no "looks like the lizard" when you lock something up Ala tfx?

regards
Ben

Communications in Typhoon is much more extensive than in other sims.

You are in radio contact with your wingman as well as other flights. You issue directions to both depending on the real-time evolving battle. Examples of other flights that you can direct include Wild Weasel, escort, and other strike flights. You can control their TOTs, attack altitudes, formation positions, etc.

The comm set-up will be one of the more challenging aspects of this sim. Because of the real time dynamic campaign, the player will see that communications quickly becomes one of the keys to success.

Andy,Happy new year and many thanks for your reply. Typhoon sounds like its shaping up to be one hell of a good game, especially if you can control the other packages in you strike team. Can you select targets for them on a mission planner (as in tornado) or is it all done on the fly...

You dont have strike teams as such, but in effect, you control every package because there are six pilots (and their wingmen) and you can fly every mission. Even if several of your pilots are in the air at the same time, you are still able to change from one to the other, as needed. Ive been trying to let the AI fly the pilot until fence in, then take over for the action, and then allow the AI to egress while I go wherever the action is hottest. It can get very intense!

To add to what Leon has said...

You can take part in mission planning and weapon selection prior to the flight.

Once airborne, you can order your strike, escort, and Wild Weasel flights to do a number of things...assume formations, maintain selected altitude blocks, attack varied targets, etc. The communication options in this sim are pretty neat!
