I've never been an autograph collector, but I have ended up with two autographs. I was reminded of this with Bud Andersons' passing. He personally signed his book "To Fly and To Fight" for me in 2015.

And prior to that I had ordered an autographed copy of German ace (275 kills, 3rd highest of all time) Gunther Rall's biography "My Logbook".

Anyone else have any interesting autographs?

A light just came on in my dusty mind... I just realized that these 2 autographs are from men who were both their respective nations leading, living, aerial aces at the time of their passing. Or I suppose... just before their passing....

I'm guessing that is Kubricks signature?

Not quite. It's Malcom McDowell.

I bought To Fly And Fight on eBay, and it turns out it had Bud’s signature in it.

In 2012, I had the great privilege of talking at some length to Eric «Winkle» Brown, the famous test pilot. I arrived at Sola Airshow in Stavanger, Norway, with the Tiger Moth. He gave a lecture there, since he flew Arado 234s from there to Farnborough in 1945. Afterwards, I got to chat with him, and he signed my logbook, as well as the inside of the luggage hatch of our Tiger Moth.

In all my years I've never seen the like. It has to be more than a hundred sea miles and he brings us up on his tail. That's seamanship, Mr. Pullings. My God, that's seamanship!
