Gleda Estes, co-founder of Estes Rockets, passed away March 30, 2024 at the age of 92.

Many here are aware of and were hobbyists with Estes model rockets.
I was a kid who enjoyed their model rockets and launched them with my Dad back as a kid. It was a real piece of the space age for me and part of many fond memories.
I didn't get to launch their Apollo 11 rocket, but I did get a good start.

Rest in Peace Gleda Estes.

I had no idea that's who founded the company. I had many hours of enjoyment from those rockets, building and launching them. Salute, and RIP!

I too built and launched them. It was pretty cool stuff.

Sad to hear. Built many Estes rockets in my youth, and a few in my not so youth. She and Vern were pioneers.

RIP. I remember building a couple of them as a kid.
