Can I somehow adjust Axis X scale to make Bank Control (Ailerons) more responsive (to bank wings faster)?

Thanks.

@OP,

Yes, such things may be tweaked (and work, in a way, as an extension of FM tweaks to some extent).

Step one: go to the following file ----->

C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\OBD_Games\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields\WOFFKeys.xca

Step two: once you open the file, drill down close to the bottom of the file, and look for the joystick control section (for example, below is my Logitech 3D Pro info. for WoFF) ----->

<Device Type=" Logitech Extreme 3D Pro USB">
<GameMode Name="Player">
<Axis ID="X" Action="Set_Bank" Scale="25" Nullzone="10" FriendlyDesc="Bank Control (Ailerons)" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Y" Action="Set_Pitch" Scale="25" Nullzone="10" FriendlyDesc="Pitch Control (Elevator)" Category="AirCraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Throttle" Action="AXIS_THROTTLE_SET" Scale="127" Nullzone="1" FriendlyDesc="Throttle" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Rudder" Action="Set_Yaw" Scale="45" Nullzone="20" FriendlyDesc="Yaw Control (Rudder)" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>

For the sake of comparison, here is my info. for WoTR ----->

<Device Type=" Logitech Extreme 3D Pro USB">
<GameMode Name="Player">
<Axis ID="X" Action="Set_Bank" Scale="30" Nullzone="20" FriendlyDesc="Bank Control (Ailerons)" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Y" Action="Set_Pitch" Scale="30" Nullzone="20" FriendlyDesc="Pitch Control (Elevator)" Category="AirCraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Throttle" Action="AXIS_THROTTLE_SET" Scale="127" Nullzone="1" FriendlyDesc="Throttle" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>
<Axis ID="Rudder" Action="Set_Yaw" Scale="35" Nullzone="25" FriendlyDesc="Yaw Control (Rudder)" Category="AircraftControl" P4Use="y"/>

General rule of thumb: increase the "Scale" value for greater responsiveness; increase the "Nullzone" value for more illusion of weight. As you can see with my setup, I've gone for a sense of greater weight but also responsiveness on ailerons/elevators for the WWII crates, but slightly less response from rudder; for my WWI kites, I've gone with a slightly twitchier rudder and a combination, for ailerons/elevators, of lightness with a bit less response since we are "flying by wire" (control cable) in WWI instead of by hydraulic/mechanical/electrical controls as in WWII.

NOTES: optimal values/entries differ slightly by joystick model and brand, so tweak to taste; I for example had best optimal results with different numbers dialed into my old Logitech Attack 3 (rest in pieces good friend) before I replaced it with the Extreme 3D Pro; also, the word " Logitech " is being automatically hyperlinked in this post - no cheap advertising on my part.

Cheers & good scale/null zone tweaking to you,
smile2

You can for simplicity do this from within the WOFFKeys key and controller configuration tool. (Workshops, Re Map Keys Controllers button)

What Scale value do you guys use for BANK?

In my case I tweaked the curves response in Joystick Gremlin which I use.

Thanks.
