Pacific War Diary, 1942-1945: The Secret Diary of an American Sailor

I've been very derelict in posting other books I've read but this one is special. Written as a secret, against regulations, diary by author James Fahey while serving aboard USS Montpelier during WWII it is, to be honest, poorly written, repetitive and error prone. And I highly recommend it. The author is of course not a writer, he wasn't writing intending to publish this work and he writes "scuttlebutt" as fact sometimes but it is an absolutely fascinating look at the daily life of a common enlisted sailor.
