Hello Chaps!

Hope you are all doing well as fall begins to slowly but surely transition to winter here in the northern hemisphere. I was looking through my profile and happened to notice that it seems I joined SimHQ in May of 2003 which if my math is right...

....

....

....carry the one...

I've been around here for two decades??

I wanted to send a short note of thanks to these boards and some of the friends I've made in passing through this odd little corner of the Internet. I was 21 years old, living at home, and surviving abusive parents, college, breakups, car crashes, and spending my spare time modding Red Baron 3D. (I still remember running Hell's Angels for the first time and waiting impatiently for my copy of Full Canvas Jacket to arrive on disc by post).

So much has happened since then. Thank you for being a part of my journey and for being there for me when times were rough if not downright impossible. I appreciate you all more than I can tell you. Olham, James, Pol, Winder, Sandbagger, Hellshade, Lou... the list goes on - so many I've gotten to know over the years - and some who aren't with us anymore. Still occasionally fire up Red Baron and visit the little town of Thielt ... where has the time gone?

Cheers cheers

PS: I noticed that my post count is a paltry 815 which comes to a scant 0.109 posts per day - hardly a contributing member, but I've tried! winkngrin

Twenty years, indeed! Thanks for sending me the first CD to get me started back before it was a commercially available product.

Unbelievably, even after all this time and so many expansions and upgrades, two new expansions are in the works this wonderful sim. I find myself checking the forums more frequently for any tid bits of updates on them.

I always forget I sent you that CD! I'm trying to remember roughly what year that would have been. If it was between 2009 and 2011 I'd be amazed. I was in graduate school living on food stamps during that time, so if I sent you off a CD successfully, that would have been a small miracle.

Hope all is well with you my friend!

@jeanba - I got roped in by OvS, who sent me a burned CD with, I think Phase 1 or 2 of OFF, and that was the moment I knew we as a community were about to move on from our Red Baron days into something beyond what we could have imagined back in 2005.

I think if you watch this twice, it will really help you wrap your head around it...

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

Head banging material! Those were the days of Iron Maiden, Deep Purple, Gentle Giant, Led and Black Sabbath. And long hair and flaired pants. biggrin

I'm coming up for my 23rd anniversary In Dec. Have had soooo much fun at Sim HQ, so many sims, so many discussions, so many classic people.

May we all be here for another twenty years. smile
