She is playing Toronto for 6 nights ! At the Rogers Center that holds 50,000 for a concert (this is where the Blue Jays play).
I cannot think of an artist to ever come close to playing that many nights. The Who, The Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd all played 3 nights.
I don't know any of her music, but man, is she ever popular.

I don't think a Led Zeppelin reunion could even pull that off.

Saw this the other day. Her concert in Seattle created seismic activity. Equivalent to a 2.3 earthquake.

Call it mass hysteria, FOMO, needing to 'belong' or whatever, but there is a large section of the population that really MUST attend these mammoth events, and she (and the industry around her) are really capitalizing on that.

Her songs that I've heard on the radio are OK, but don't really stand out. Others seem to disagree. biggrin

Reminds me of the hype around Madonna years ago...

I have zero interest in her musical style. Having said that, she is incredibly talented and she knows how to market herself.

Has dalliances with all the Major Heartthrobs, breaks up with them and then writes whiney songs about how they weren't all that. She's a slut and her songs are musically simple and boring

She does not seem like a slut to me. The least amount of clothing I've seen her wear equates to a one piece bathing suit. She doesn't sing about her WAP.

As I said earlier, I can't think of any other musician that sold 300,000 seats in Toronto. Not even close.
I'm not counting SARSStock https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Molson_Canadian_Rocks_for_Toronto
as that was headlined by The Rolling Stones and AC/DC.

At least she writes all of her own music which puts her leagues ahead of most Pop artists today!

She is doing something right. As I said, I know very little about her. But she does not come across as an artist that needs to use sex as the main focal point of her show.
The demand for her blows my mind. But it looks like Toronto is her only Canadian stop (it's Nov. 2024), so her fans will have to fly cross country to see her.

I don't follow her music either, but have seen reports of her generosity over the years. The latest example:

That is awesome. She is obviously down to earth.

My wife has a good friend from pharmacy school who got to meet Taylor Swift backstage after a concert and she had the same sentiment.
