"Underrated" can be difficult to define and nail down but I'm thinking about those actors who almost never get mentioned by the entertainment media and fans when their film is being discussed.

Anyway, here are the first 10 that immediately came to my mind:

1. Joe Turkel as Dr. Eldon Tyrell in Blade Runner.

2. William Sanderson as JF Sebastian in Blade Runner.

3. Dean Stockwell as Cavil in the reimagined Battlestar Galactica

4. Brad Dourif as Piter de Vries in Dune (David Lynch version).

5. Christopher Plummer as General Chang in Star Trek VI.

6. Keith David as Imam in Pitch Black.

7. Aaron Paul as Caleb Nichols in Westworld.

8. Charles Dance as Dr. Clemons in Alien 3.

9. Jennifer Connelly as Emma in Dark City

10. Uma Thurmann as Irene in Gattaca

Paul Winfield and Lance Henriksen in the original Terminator were great - I always get a kick out of seeing their scenes. They were very convincing as two old cops who'd worked together for years, almost like an old married couple. I don't see much talk about those performances, but I thought they were great.

Definitely. Winfield and Henriksen had great chemistry in that movie.

Thomas Jane as Miller in The Expanse.

Thomas Jane is amazing. His Miller was my favorite character on the show.

Also, any performance by Brad Dourif is underrated in Sci Fi. He's done many roles as a character actor in the genre, and every one has been exceptional.

I also enjoyed Michael Hogan on Battlestar Galactica reboot. His performance was quite catchy

I can’t believe Panzermeyer didn’t mention Mark Sheppard as Badger in Firefly and Romo Lampkin in BSG, or James Callis as Gaius Baltar.

James Callis is not underrated as "Baltar" in my opinion. The BSG fan community has overwhelmingly praised him.

I do agree with Mark Sheppard though for both BSG and Firefly.

This may not be science fiction, and maybe not under rated, but I don't recall seeing much talk about Sean Connery's performance in The Last Crusade. I thought he did a great job, very much against type and his previous roles.

The bedrock of that movie was the chemistry between Ford and Connery. It was certainly "lightning in a bottle".
