Any folks here eat them beef jerky ?

I see this at the store, they look tasty and I want to buy it.

They have so many brands too, those Jack Links brand, the store brand and several other national brands I don't know anything about.

But if you get one and it doesn't taste good or it's too hard to chew

you can't go back to the store and say I want a refund, I don't like this. The pack is opened. They don't refund opened products.

Then you end up throwing away $9-14.

Just try it. Yes, they are chewy, they are meant to be. They were designed as survival food originally.
Very tasty, a nice snack. Flavour is a personal preference. I would go with beef over the pork though. Try original Jack Links. Prices have gotten pretty high, just like everything.

Otherwise the store bought stuff is fine and convenient, if pricey.

The only time I eat beef jerky is when I've been on road trips. You don't have to worry about the meat spoiling while sitting inside a hot car!

I bought one.10 oz bag of Jack Links ORIGINAL Beef Jerky.

It's not good. Beef jerky shuold have a smoky salty taste and even a spicy taste from the seasoning like black pepper and other dry rubs used during the dehydration drying curing process.

It has no taste and the texture when you chew doesn't even feel like dried up dehydrated beef.

On the packaging it reads hardwood smoked. CAN'T EVEN TASTE ANY OF THAT NOR SMELL IT.

$12 and can't return it because the package is opened.

I hate waste!

Freshness actually does matter a lot for jerky if "tenderness" matters to you.

Check the packaging, most foods offer a satisfaction guarantee. Oftentimes you just send them a code from the package as proof you bought it.

Why the sudden interest in beef jerky? Are you going on a 2 week hiking trip in Idaho or something?

We go to Wal Mart and jerkys are next to cookies and crackers and peanuts that we buy. For years I look at the jerkys and want to buy it but didn't.



I called. They say they will send me a check for $15 and $40 in coupons so I can try the other flavors.

My dogs love jerky. Though the canine version stinks on opening like an old grave.
