Click on something, doesn't open.

Click on something, it hangs.

Or the whole site just doesn't load like when I click on Community Hall and the screen doesn't change.

So has anyone looked into this? The site has been dirt slow for 2 days now.

To paraphrase LOtR ...the age of the internet forum is aat an end ..... many of us have been on this site for 20ish years. I am grateful that the owners keep in going for us few users ....But I don't expect great performance anymore smile

That is very true indeed! It seems Reddit and other similar services have supplanted the traditional message board.

I use Reddit but it is nowhere near as useful a format as a forum

Reddit can be brutal. Very little moderation. It's a trolls paradise.

I ran optimization on a couple of large tables in the forum database, but did not see any appreciable improvement. That was not really surprising to me, as I was fairly certain it was a hosting issue,... which unfortunately, the moderators/admins have no ability to influence.

I have to think the hosting service did something to address an issue on their side.

Unfortunately, I see we no longer have video embedding functionality, which sucks. I don't know if that is related, but I suspect it is.

No idea if it is related to the site slowdown but the "What are you listening to right now" thread in the Music forum would constantly crash the browser on my smartphone. I'm sure it was due to the huge amount of embedded youtube videos.

I do not think my actions made much, if any, improvement... but it was worth a shot. The slowdown cleared later on, which was probably due the server host doing something. We have slowdowns occur from time to time and then clear up through no action of ours.

Very slow today and many times get white error page
