He and I had an ongoing e-mail discussion for a long time but have not heard from him in many weeks.

I fear that he has passed, but hopefully not.

PLEASE advise.

You could try contact via Steven190, who he said was his best on line friend and brother in arms. Sadly Steven has also vanished at around the exact same moment and contacting him will also not be easy.

BTW I haven't seen his name in the local obituaries and I don't think he's passed on yet, so I haven't given up hope.

Russ was a valuable poster here, and a valuable contributor for many years.

Russ was also a personal friend to many of us. Someone who would always help folks but who did not tolerate fools well.

If Russ has truly passed, then I, and we, have lost a true friend.

Suggest that we all take a moment to consider how fleeting times and people might be.

RIP, Russ! Gone but not forgotten! I hope your nightmares induced from your Khe Sanh USMC experiences, and never addressed by any sort of Vet Admin experiences, are now resolved.
