I thought we had a thread on this, I guess not. Roger is reimagining DSOTM, due to be released this summer I believe. There has been little bits of it released on YouTube. My question was WHY ? leave it alone. But count Nick Mason as someone who thinks it's brilliant. LINK
Now, I bet Mr. Gilmour would not say that for all the tea in China
But I respect Nick Mason, and it has me interested in what the results will be.

I`ve been listening to this Pink Floyd album since it was released.
Even with its modern sound and older Waters I just feel that there is something missing.
There was a moment where I thought the Hammond organ fitted in. A short moment.
Well I know there is something missing.
David Gilmours voice and guitar appealed more to me when I was at that age. As they have continued with since
This David is more like syrup and would fit nicely in with the old ladies that have never experienced the original Dark Side Of The Moon.

Good post Wigean. As for me, I have zero interest in this "reimagined" version of DSOTM for quite a few reasons.

Hehe.
I have acquired some special and rare filters that engage automatically in my little brain.
The duration is rather short as my ever-recurring consciousness normally overpowers the sensation.
A little bit of voluntary intoxication usually prolongs these moments though.
The reset usually goes smoothly, and can be renewed by choice.

Even disregarding all of my ideological problems with Waters, a reimagining of this classic album was totally and utterly unnecessary from a creative standpoint. It's like Waters is trying to reinvent the wheel here.

I guess Waters got fed up with no one buying his solo albums so he decided to do this project.

His last solo album was excellent. He has been very busy touring, and selling out all over the world. Roger is past doing things for money. He is in his IDGAF late stage of life. (what people think of him). It's his message he cares about. But mankind in on a crash course that can't be stopped IMO.
