To those who still use this kit, do you use any 3rd party software like Joy Gremlin ?
I've seen some whispering online that CH Control Manger works in Windows 11.
How are you calibrating your controllers ?
My Fighterstick and Pro Throttle are arriving today.

FFS. Received my CH HOTAS today. The bloody Z axis on the pro throttle does not work. It just jitters, whether within windows calibration or CH Manager.
I'm starting to question my choice of a hobby. banghead

update. CH Products responded to my email by calling me. Unfortunately after some brief troubleshooting, the CH rep determined that the potentiometer for the Z axis is defective. UGH.

BTW, they were surprised I was able to dig up the CH Manager software from their site. They definitely recommend not using it.

I will say this, CH Products responded to my email by phoning me, about 15 mins after I sent the email. I'm impressed by that type of customer service.

It definitely does. I had to install it as the CH Rudder Pedals cannot be calibrated correctly otherwise in Win11 (the break axis are shortened to 50% - 100%, no 0 - 50% from what I remember).

I wish somebody would give that CH Manager software some much needed love.

I am being sent a replacement Pro Throttle from the distributor. They are sending it without even receiving the defective one back.
Distributor is asking CH Products what to do with the defective one. The distributor has never had a problem with CH Products. I have read Logitech will replace defective throttles (X56) if you send a video of you severing the usb chord. It beats paying for return shipping.

CH always had great support in the past, and it's nice to see that hasn't changed since game controllers seem to have taken a back-seat for them.

Their factory is, or at least was, about 40 minutes from me, and I stopped by once when my pedals had an issue and they replaced them on the spot.

If only they would update their pots. They're pretty good already, they would be great if they went to hall effect

I took the throttle apart. The yellow (middle) wire, on the potentiometer was disconnected. Unfortunately hooking it up and squeezing the connection, with needle nose pliers, did not fix it. The throttle was reading 0 to 100 % when just moving the handle an inch.

Could be they have the wires plugged into the wrong terminals? I'd find a diagram online to cross reference.

I watched a tear down video, and the sequence matched.

Thanks F4Dash4.

I am wondering if the pot is defective. What are the odds of the pot being defective AND the yellow wire being disconnected ? I know very little about electronics. If the loose (live)yellow wire touched either the live blue or green connection, would that cook the pot ?

That absolutely could be the case. I cooked one of my toe brake pots years ago when I rewired my CH pedals to be dual USB/Gameport for my HOTAS Cougar.

So, in your opinion, it's worth trying a new pot ? The wiring would survive such an incident ? Looks like it will cost less than $20 shipped.

If that's a brand new CH HOTAS isn't it covered by warranty?

If not brand new, new pot should fix IF something else wasn't wired wrong inside...

Yes, brand new. CH told the distributor(Vancouver Canada) to send me a replacement. Its on its way. They did not want me to have to pay to ship it back, being international might have come into play ( CH is in California). You can't beat customer service like that.
They just asked that I recycle this one. Which repairing would be. I'll keep it as a spare, not sell it.

You can replace then with 3rd part Magnetoresistence (KMZ41) sensor, better - for game controller purpose; than Hall sensor.

Drop in replacement "MagRez" made by Rel4y

Use these don't represent improvement - due the low resolution of USB controller (8 Bit - 256 "steeps"), only longevity.
