I'm getting back into Arma 3 - slowly. Steam's spring sale is on, and I've bought the DLC mentioned here:

I played with Sim HQ briefly some years back, and would like to get involved again. If nothing else, I can draw the fire away from the others.

We'd love to have you Paul! We usually meet every Monday evening at 8:00 pm EDT which I believe is 1:00 AM your time. We have another member from the UK who joins us from time to time so we understand the difficulty of working with the time zone difference.

We'd love to have you, but we've been only playing on Mondays at 8PM Eastern US. That's generally not a friendly time for Europeans players.

Please keep in mind that is an outdated pre-set for mods. Somehow Meatshield didn't update that thread.

This pre-set is around 40GB uncompressed. Additionally, we use several of the paid cDLC. We have A3, Apex (Tanoa) expansion, Contact, Global Mobilization, Prairie Fire, Western Sahara. It's a lot.

Thanks very much for the responses. I have a feeling that I was taking part in the Saturday sampler games way back, which were more suitable for my time zone. That said, given my circumstances, 0100 UK-time is not impossible.

I see that there is no game on March 20th, so if I can make it, I will see you on the 27th. I can also join in if someone fancies teaming up on another server, or an ad-hoc session.

Yes, you're correct in your paid DLC.

Something to note, you have to use the launcher when starting up. it loads the pre-set with the mods and it also loads the paid dlc at the same time.
Also to note, all the DLC we use need to have a check mark next to them (Except Contact!) Do not have that one checked off. It loads you into the space/alien thing and we dont use that part. We can still use the map/units, etc from Contact, just not the alien stuff.

When you have all your stuff sorted out, I can help you confirm everything is in order. Ideally, you should be good to go on game night and not setting stuff up then.

Yes - nothing worse than being all set for a game, and someone suddenly asking where they should buy Arma from.

Here's how I have the DLC arranged - 'Contact' is owned but not ticked, as per your instructions - is this correct ?




I now have the May 2022 preset installed, which loads a total of 72 mods. I have run the fix dependencies function and everything looks fine. However, on launching the game, I am getting one dependency message, as below. Any idea what the fix is, or whether it is important ?



Another query - do you use standard default Teamspeak, or are there plug-ins required ? I know there is no game tonight, but I can be around at 1 a.m. tonight to discuss matters if that is convenient.

No worries Paul. I’m not a Russian bot or a Nigerian prince.

That popup with that error is normal. We get that too. There's an issue with one of the mods, but there hasn't been an update to that mod, so that warning doesn't go away. It's a non-issue for our play, though.

Prof will be very relieved ;-)
