Hi Gents!

Hope you are doing well. My Thrustmaster HOTAS X has a faulty rudder input that is causing my plane to yaw violently at random times... which is frustrating considering that I just purchased this joystick a few years ago.

At any rate. I'm looking at a better replacement and I've come across the VKB Gladiator NXT EVO. It gets high reviews but of course, my concern is, will it work with my favorite sim. Here's the link https://www.vkbcontrollers.com/products/gladiator-nxt-evo-wwii-combat-edition - I'll likely get a second stick to serve as the throttle quadrant.

So I wanted to ask the boards if they've had any experience with it. Or if not, what stick have you used and what has your experience been? Any input is welcome (just don't tell me to pay $800 for a Warthog...)

Cheers!

I've had good luck with the 16000M Thrustmaster series! But do you have rudder pedals? I would think that would be the first, best investment?

The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...

I have been very pleased with the 16000M Thrustmaster, which you can order with a throttle quadrant the has a rudder paddle on the front.

There's a thread on the VBK NXT where initially there was an issue with it that we fixed (odditiies in its name) It also needs to be set to use 32 buttons rather than 128

Thanks everyone! Super helpful information. I managed to disassemble my current stick, and fix (for now) the yaw sensor, so for now things are good. I'll keep these recommendations in mind going forward.

So interesting that there are so many recommendations for the 16000M because it was panned on countless YouTube videos. Glad to hear it's a good alternative and certainly more in my budget!

Apologies for not being around - still here, just covered up in RL at the moment.

Cheers!
