I downloaded the expansion and the patch today and started playing it. After a while, I got a message that I had malware on my computer. (Antivirus is Kapersky). Before I could finish the mission, I got kicked out of the game and my antivirus SW said it was going to disinfect the hard drive. Then it came back and told me there were two instances of ra somewhere on my computer and they were in the two copies of the software I had just loaded from OBD. Is this just a trigger from the virus ware? I deleted Norton because of problems similar to this. I am not sure what to do with this. I can’t seem to be able to isolate and contain or delete the problem. I guess I could isolate it? Anyone else have this issue? Is it an issue with the program or antivirus SW?

I recommend just using Windows built in anti virus. (If you are running Win 10 or 11) I recently installed the BOF expansion with no issues.

I recommend Eset NOD32 anti virus - no problems here for decades. From time to time one or two AV's go nuts and think they have detected a Virus in WOFF. Usually at that same time, the other 100 AV's don't wink. There is no Virus in WOFF or WOTR.
Look in the log of your AV, and find out which particular file or files it doesn't like, then please report it as a false positive with your AV company - usually on their website they have a section or means to report it - or via the program itself on some.
They will then check the files and give the all clear for their next updates.

I am not saying you do not have any virus elsewhere on the PC which of course can then infect files you run or files elsewhere, but if you have no detection anywhere else then it's a false positive.

See section 7 of the FAQ too. Some AV's are very aggressive on their scanning. Don't forget they look for signatures - that define small parts of some virus code, and sometimes small parts of genuine programs can match or partly match that by shear luck - false positive.

Main issues in the past have been with Norton, MSE, occasionally Bitdefender, and Kaspersky as the main ones that have cropped up from time to time.

The expansion and 1.03 patch installed and ran without a flaw. I managed to fly one mission with each of the different factions and noticed a number of great changes. On the fourth mission I am assuming that the virus checker was runnin in the background as I saw a malware alert and to tell the truth I ignored it. The virus checker kicked me out of the game and again reported a malware alert. In checking it this morning it is saying that it is sensing a ransom algorithm in the 1.03 zip file. It is obviously a false alert as the patch installed with zero issues. I did place two copies of that zip file into different places on the computer. I will go in and delete them this morning. I will also report it as a false finding.

Thanks Polovski for the help, I will also look at changing to ESET NODE32.
