When I try to fly the American campaigns, the pilot view in the Nieuport 28 and Spad XIII my face is so close to the windscreens all I can see is the wing surfaces and only a little to the sides. Zooming out is so little that it does not improve the view much. I can't see the enemy planes at all to fight with them.

You really were extremely cramped in there. But you really need head tracking to fly well in those and track enemies. However, look at item number 68 in the WOFF BH&H II FAQ (see support page on our website) you can edit the default zoom.

I should have noted, I do have TrackIR. The zoom problem was such that looking up all I could see was the undersurface of the wing which made it all but impossible to track enemy aircraft movements up and to the sides anything more than 45 degrees to the side and 10 degrees up.

Thanks for the info, it has done the trick.

Hi Kurt,
Could this be THE Captain Kurt from the EAW days ?
If so it's great to hear from you and your skins are still up on the EAW Host site from 2004.

Captain Kurt

Mike

Hi Mike

Yeah, that's me. I'm surprised EAW is still around and even more to hear my old old models are still posted.

I've been doing a lot with CFS2 modding - making some 20 different WWI models, and a Rickenbacker campaign. Lot's of WW2 campaigns, models, etc too. I see a few CFS2 guys here too.

If you're interested, you can check out the WWI mods for CFS2 at the Sim Outhouse -- www.sim-outhouse.com. Not quite up to WOFF standards but still fun.

I have to compliment you on your plastic models - very well done.

Cheers,

Kurt

Hi Kurt,
So, still modding for flight sims then.
Yes the host site is still online after 20 plus years.
I took it off-line a couple of times as I thought it wasn't being used that much.
But then members asked for it back.
Your work foe EAW was some of the best.
I'll certainly take a look at the CFS2 work.

Mike
