My interpretation of how my subconscious reacts (all in about 1.25 seconds) when the 1970's are mentioned:

Me: 1973.... ah yes, 30 years ago

Also me: think again dude, 1973 was longer ago than that

Me: what? OK, I guess it was more like 40 years

Also me: nope, try 50 years!

Me: no way!

Also me: yes!

Me: oh man, you're right! Sigh.....

LOL! I have the same experience with the 1980's!

When I think of the 70's though my first three immediate thoughts are:

Disco
Star Wars
Ford Pinto

Yep, I was 17 in 1973. How can that be 50 years ago?

1973, I immediately think Dark Side Of The Moon and Billion Dollar Babies.

Just came across this, pretty cool. I look forward to the results.

Was in University in 73 and realizing that I could not play in a band and still get the education I wanted. Music was still good back then

I was early in my military service wearing a ruck and toting a rifle.

I was in grade one. Biggest memory is getting my knuckles smacked, by Mrs. Wilks. with a wooden ruler, for the crime of colouring outside the lines.

I was 8 years old. I was going to a Catholic school. The nuns were mean as heck.

Not mean, demanding.

There was only 16 squadrons of RAF fighters that used 100 octane during the BoB.
The Fw190A could not fly with the outer cannon removed.
There was no Fw190A-8s flying with the JGs in 1945.

A great scene from a classic movie.
