I heard this watching the movie Some Kind of Wonderful. Very different pace and energy than the original Elvis, but I liked it.

Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.

Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

You probably won't have heard of this if you're not from the UK (or Finland), but believe me, it's better than the original film and Aled Jones' version.

[Van Halen] Where Have All the Good Times Gone! (2015 Remaster)

I usually still appreciate the originals though (The Kinks in this case), given the time period. I also realize that if I were 20 years older, I'd likely not care for the VH cover as I don't care for most modern covers of songs I grew up with.

The best music is the music you grew up with (and maybe a little further back if you have an older brother).

The rusty wire that holds the cork that keeps the anger in
Gives way and suddenly it’s day again
The sun is in the east
Even though the day is done
Two suns in the sunset, hmph
Could be the human race is run

Van Halen's covers of "Pretty Woman" and "You Really Got Me" are very good IMHO.

Van Halen knew how to do a cover.
There was a time I thought Dance The Night Away was a cover.

It does sound like one vs. a typical VH song.

What about this song by Long John Baldry, covered by different artist like the grateful dead, that intro is in my opinion the best intro ever.
