Had no knowledge of this film, thanks for the link FB! Though obviously low-budget, one of the most chilling portrayals of the 'Banality of Evil' and in particular of the "Chinless Chicken Farmer" Himmler that I have seen in the media. Actually part-located at Auschwitz 1, I'm surprised that this was able to be produced in Germany at the time of filming.

This Rudolf should also not had lived past 1945. Well the war didn't end until May 1945 and then Hoess was a defendant at the Nuremburg Trials which lasted several months and then he was extradited to Poland where he was tried again and then executed.

I was referring to the other Rudolf who lived until 1987 in Spandau Prison. He should had been executed in 1945. That's debatable since he had nothing to do really with the "Final Solution" and he left Germany and the regime in 1941 to fly to the UK in order to try and facilitate peace talks. In fact, Hitler officially decreed that Hess must be shot on sight if he ever returned to Germany.

Did you just recently discover this turd? It's definitely worth watching for all of the laughs you'll get. Rifftrax did a hilarious riffing of the SW Holiday Special which you may be interested in checking out.

Just finished Wednesday on Netflix, Jenny Ortega is perfect as the title character. Her unblinking delivery is deliciously unnerving.

Interesting. Different. Fun.
Did you just recently discover this turd? Saw a bit on Tik Tok yesterday. Just finished Wednesday on Netflix, Jenny Ortega is perfect as the title character. Her unblinking delivery is deliciously unnerving. Watching E4 after supper.

The problem is that it's a WWII movie with a chick flick plot. Yeah, I think every war movie I've seen with a chick flick plot has turned me right off. I'm thinking Pearl Harbour * shudders*

+1 The cinematic past seems to confirm your view. Tora Tora Tora - no chick flick plot or subplot. Patton - no chick flick plot or subplot. A Bridge Too Far - no chick flick plot or subplot. Gettysburg - no chick flick plot or subplot. Glory - no chick flick plot or subplot. Saving Private Ryan - no chick flick plot or subplot. Blackhawk Down - no chick flick plot or subplot. Das Boot - no chick flick plot or subplot. On a few RARE occasions a war movie still managed to be great even with a chick flick supblot: The Blue Max Cross of Iron

Cross of Iron? I don't remember a chick flick plot in that. Mind you it's been some years since my last viewing.
*edit* The nurse. Yes, that was bearable.
