Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

RIP A very talented and beautiful woman with a great singing voice.

I saw Fleetwood Mac in concert several years ago, and was really disappointed that Christine McVie had decided not to join them for that tour. Unlike most bands, they had enough songs sung by others that it was still a good concert, but I always felt like there was something missing.

Christie McVie dies, and Stevie Nicks is trending on Twitter
they were great friends, everybody wants to see Stevie's reaction ...
She lived in Stevie's shadow her whole life. You would think the day she died, she would be trending higher.
No, she didn't. She was successful before she joined Fleetwood Mac & she started playing with Fleetwood Mac 8 years before Stevie & Lindsey Buckingham joined Fleetwood Mac.

I should not have said her whole life. I'm talking when they were both in the band, and post Fleetwood Mac. Stevie trending on the day Christie dies says a lot. I think Stevie Nicks is extremely overrated to be honest.

My opinion might be tainted. I had a psycho ex-girlfriend who loved Stevie Nicks. We saw her live, it was ok.

Man, I know I have "The Dance" concert on VHS but I can't find it! Maybe it was recorded on a blank, not worth searching for...will purchase DVD.

A belated RIP. I never fully appreciated their music post Peter Green, though album sales and continued touring prove they found the right formula for mass appeal.
I came after the high-tide of Fleetwood Mac, but I recognized a few of the songs. IIRC, the wiki shows that the Fleetwood Mac release of "The Rumours" sold something crazy like 40,000,000+ copies!?!? That is insane if true so I am sure many know and recognize Ms. McVie's passing.
