I've noticed that I'm not seeing any visible plane damage. For instance, I collided head on with another plane and my own plane and theirs remained entirely intact.

Does the game actually model parts of the airframe coming off?

I've been googling about it, and I found something about using high resolution skins makes it so there is no visible plane damage? That seemed to be for an older version, is that still the case?

Plenty of parts can get damaged. Fly and fight more QC I am sure you will see more - maybe try other aircraft sounds like maybe you have been very lucky in the one you're in.

A few quick examples attached.

I've flown about 20 more missions since posting this, and I have never seen any visual damage like what was posted above on my plane... even though I've been thoroughly trashed by enemies,

Just now I collided with another plane and my handling felt like I was missing a part of my wing, but the plane model showed zero visible damage.

Is it just extremely rare to actually see the damage?

I'm thinking I might be missing a setting, but my workshop does have:

Aircraft Skin res = High
Cockpit Visual Damage Effects = On
Exterior Bullet Decals = On

As was posted above...

Hmm, that's odd that you still aren't seeing damage.

In addition to the Workshop settings you listed above, make sure all of the following settings in the Graphic Details section are set to 5:

Aircraft Detail
Effects Quality
Aircraft Shadow Detail

Other than that, I can't think of anything else that may be causing your issues.

Yeah, all of those are set as well.

Is there a quick test I can do to see aircraft damage?

If I drag my wing on the ground while taking off, should it show visible damage on the model of the wing?

Also, to double check-

I downloaded the WOFF2 program from the website, then installed the 1.34 patch from the downloads section of the website. That is all I needed to install, right?

Hallo @FlyinJ,

for test fly in Quick-Combat. And for example fly very near to the ground over a fence. Normaly you hear the breaking landing gear and see from outside the fracture.
Or try a heavy collision with a tree or a real collision with an other aeroplane, or ... (live or dead is even in the test). There are enough situations for the test.

Greetings

Do you have Invincible turned on in workshop settings? Just ran a few tests intentionally ramming other aircraft and that would surely do it. No damage that is.

Good suggestion, Stork! That would explain a lot of his issues, particularly if he is not getting any damage.

OK, I just set up a quick flight and dragged my wing against the ground and actually saw damage on the wing!

It is really odd that is the first time I have ever seen any damage on my or another plane model in my 40+ missions flown.

I have collided head on with other planes several times and neither plane showed any visible damage yet my plane was definitely heavily damaged from the drastic change in flight control.

No idea tbh, probably just some extreme luck. Is this one particular aircraft perhaps? Just as some people never see random damage, yet others say it happens too much.
