Hi, FlyinJ.
The warp function was disabled because it caused problems with the flight of AI aircraft and the likelihood of running into AI formations.
You can increase the time acceleration above 16X, but it usually slows your frame rate to a crawl, which defeats the entire purpose. I suppose if you have a very powerful processor and GPU, you can try increasing the value to 20X or 24X, but anything above that will pretty much be pointless.
Another problem with flying at a high time acceleration is that you may die without knowing what hit you. As far as I recall, WOFF does not automatically drop back to normal time when you encounter an enemy or are hit by flak.

There is an .xml file setting you can edit, but I don't remember which one at the moment. My time acceleration is also capped at 12x right now. Give me an hour or two and I will check.

With any text editor, open the simulation.xml file in the OBDSoftware\WOFF\OBDWW1 Over Flanders Fields folder, and look for the line "maxTimeCompression." Change 12 to 16, 18, or 20.
If 16, you will get time compression of 2x, 4x, 8x, and 16x.
If 18, you will get time compression of 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and 18x.
If 20, you will get time compression of 2x, 4x, 8x, 16x, and 20x.
I don't recommend going any higher than 24.

8x 12x or 16x can be useful when climbing to the first waypoint, but for the most part, I agree that you will miss out by going any higher than 4x.

Hmm, I have to admit that I usually go 8 or 12 till I get to the front, with a finger on the pause key in case anything crazy starts to happen! Of course, I fly mostly Entente, so I don't very often get much other than recon on my side of the lines...
The older I get, the more I realize I don't need to be Han, Luke or Leia. I'm just happy to be rebel scum...
