I was going to ask about another HOTAS maker that I couldn't remember the name but seemed to recall they has similar looking and quality devices like VKB. I think Johnny answered that question. Virpil sounds familiar.

I'm surprised nobody has mention Virpil. I picked up their throttle, and it's a pretty impressive piece of kit. Their throttle options are a bit limited but they do have a nice range of sticks and rudder pedals. When I upgraded my HOTAS, I wound up with the Virpil throttle, the VKB Modern Combat Mk III stick, and MFG Crosswinds pedals. Pricey, but I'm set for a bit I think! Sounds like a great setup. Virpil looks like high end gear. More expensive than VKB from what I can tell. Do you know where they ship from JohnnyChemo ? No I don't recall where my throttle shipped from, but since then they opened a US webstore and anything ordered from there gets shipped from Florida. https://virpil-controls.us.com/delivery-info-usLike I said its a bit pricey, but I figured I got darn near 20 years out of my Cougar. If I get the same from this stuff I'll have done pretty well for myself. The throttle is smoother than the Cougar throttle ever was, and the analog stick (it's basically a gamepad analog stick) works great - much better than the Cougar microstick. The joystick is very nice as well, though it's plastic and I do miss the feel of my metal Cougar stick. But so many hats and buttons! The MFG Crosswind pedals are excellent, my previous pedals were CH pedals that actually plugged into my Cougar with a gameport connector, so you get a sense of how old they were.

Throughout history, poverty is the normal condition of man. Advances which permit this norm to be exceeded — here and there, now and then — are the work of an extremely small minority, frequently despised, often condemned, and almost always opposed by all right-thinking people. Whenever this tiny minority is kept from creating, or (as sometimes happens) is driven out of a society, the people then slip back into abject poverty. This is known as "bad luck.” -Robert Heinlein

Does anyone know if they still produce Fighter, Combat Sticks/Pro Throttles/Pro Pedals ? I don't know, but their website is not helpful at all. ... I am sure 531 Ghost might know something. He loves that black plastic Still here AZ Yes, it's been a while since I've posted here at SimHQ. Quite frankly, I can't stand the ADs. I do lurk from time to time though. That "black plastic" actually is glass filled nylon. I've had/used the same FighterStick since 1998. Let's do the math, 2022 - 1998 = 24 years. Without issues. The only reason I've gotten new ProThrottles and or Throttle Quadrants is because I was doing hardware beta testing on them. Per CH Products Web Site you can get their products from a number of re-sellers HERE As Spidey points out however, what used to be under the hood, (Control Manager) now is best for calibration purposes. Unfortunately. That said the devices can be set up in any game (yes, I said it) by assigning any of the axis or button in-game. I've been having a ball flying around in MSFS and XPlane 12 (Beta) using my FlightSim Yoke, ProPedals, Throttle Quadrant. As well my FlightSimBuilder G1000 MFD and my Saitek/ Logitech Radio Stack, Switch Panel and Multi Panel. Happy flying guys! And now back to your thread... S/F

I was in the Virpil forums today and saw Canadian's getting nailed with extra duty charges. Shipping from Florida. I can see from China. But the US and Canada have a free trade agreement that includes %0 tax on computer relate goods. Could be UPS looking to make a little extra.

That sucks! You're in Ontario - I'm in Buffalo. You can ship it to me and come pick it up if you want.

I would like to see the Leafs play in Buffalo again. It's a blast, and affordable. Visiting the original six hockey arenas/cities, is on my bucket list.(except Montreal) My sister has a winter home in Florida and invites me every year. The Leafs seem to do their Florida road games after Christmas. That would be perfect. BTW, do you have your snow shovel ready ?

Sitting here watching the snow right now, snow shovels and snowblower at the ready. I’m teacher, so woohooo! Snow day for me!

So how much are you getting ? Anywhere near the forecast 4 feet ?
Good people sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf.
Someday your life will flash in front of your eyes. Make sure it is worth watching.

I'm on the north edge of the band that's hit the area so far. As of an hour or so ago when I did my driveway for the first time, I'd say we have about a foot and a half at most. The snow itself is very wet and heavy, so if it was colder I'd guess it would be over two feet deep. That 4 feet prediction is for the whole event, and it's supposed to keep snowing until late Saturday evening, so we haven't gotten all we're gonna get yet.
It actually cleared up for a bit while I was out clearing the driveway (and shoveling a path for the dog) but now the band is shifting back into our area again.
I REALLY want to hop in the Jeep and go for a drive, but we have a travel ban in place so it's not worth it.

I don't think the travel ban would have been an issue for me. I'm on the border between a "Travel Ban" and a "Travel Advisory." We're at the edge of the snow band and haven't gotten much since this morning. In fact, there's been a quite a bit of sunshine. That is supposed to change, possibly another foot or so tonight. But I'll believe it when I'm shoveling it out.
Good news on the throttle! And so quickly! I had to wait about a month for my Virpil throttle to get here!!
