I have sent the 10th version of the Alternative Skins Mod to Sandbagger, so it should be posted sometime soon.
In response to Wodin's thread 'Be cool id skin makers would...' I did.some more
There are about 80 new personal skins in this new release. Some are the markings on documented aircraft for which the pilot is not known, some are for use with a certain Staffel but most will work in a number of units. Look at the ReadMe file and it will explain the reasoning behind the markings.
Here are a few screenshots.
This first is an Albatros DV that I labeled the black corkscrew, it is based on Hans Holthusen's (Jasta 30) red and white corkscrew markings. The clouds are from BuckeyeBob's Optional Clouds Mod 5.0 BB Clouds and Fog Low
off_Alb_DV_later_ace_t_Jasta 0_Personal-Stars – This personal skin was inspired by a story Otto Fuchs told in his “Wir Flieger: Kriegserinnerungen eines Unbekannten,” translated as “Flying Fox” by Adam Wait.
Fuchs relates that he was saved by an aircraft of this general description when he was losing a fight with a very experienced Englishman in a Nieuport. He wrote “I look around in disbelief for my pursuer. In his place an unfamiliar Albatros is swaying in the shadow-filled sea of air. The blue fuselage bears three golden stars like a congnac bottle. Its pilot waves happily to me. Side by side we fly over the lines and separate, never to meet again.”
Fuchs later finds out who this pilot was after he was killed. He gives fiction names to the pilots in his book and, in this case, Wait was unable to ascertain who this pilot actually was.
I am assuming from this description that it was an all-blue fuselage but that is only my interpretation. Still, a nice personal aircraft to use, if you are so inclined, that will fit in with many different Staffels. I am also assuming that this was Martell cognac, since that is the only one I could find with three stars on the label, though they are white stars.
The three stars are supposed to indicate that it is a young cognac that has been aged in barrels for two years.
off_Alb_DVa_Ace_t_Jasta 0 1918_Personal Red_Corkscrew – a generic personal skin that will fit in many Staffels. Based on the corkscrew pattern used by Hans Holthusen of Jasta 30.
The clouds are BuckeyBob's BB Gray autocumulus Clouds from his Optional Clouds Mod version 5.0
off_Pfalz_DIIIa_ace _t_Jasta 0 1917_Personal Candy_Cane – This rather imperfect corkscrew is based on a number of aircraft, most of which have no pilot or unit associated with them.
This one is similar to the corkscrew design used by Hans Holthusen in Jasta 30. This type pattern was often considered to be a “dazzle” pattern that would throw off the aim of an opponent or ground fire.
Clouds are from BuckeyeBob's Optional Cloud Mod BB Fluffy White Scattered Clouds
off_Pfalz_DIIIa_ace _t_Jasta 0 1918_Personal Saxon_Zebra – This rather imperfect corkscrew is based on a number of aircraft, most of which have no pilot or unit associated with them.

The green and white with the white tail and green spinner is similar to that used by Jasta 72s. I posted it for Jasta 0 instead of Jasta 72s as it does not conform to the Staffel marking pattern of horizontal stripes. However, if you catch Staffelfuhrer Menckhoff in a good mood, perhaps he will let you use it.
off_Pfalz_DIIIa_ace _t_Jasta 16 1917_Personal_Zebra – This rather imperfect corkscrew is based on a number of aircraft, most of which have no pilot or unit associated with them.
I felt that it worked well with the Jasta 16 colors. This skin would also work well in any one of a number of Staffels.
Off_Alb_DIII_OAW_ace_t_Jasta 18 1917_Rudolf_Berthold – This is a REPLACEMENT for the skin done by James Romano for the WOFF Skin Pack.
The basic skin is James’ I have just altered the wings and personal markings.
A new photograph of Berthold’s crashed DIII OAW that has not previously been seen is on page 31 of Lance Bronnenkant’s “The Blue Max Airmen” Volume 4. It shows this variation on Berthold’s winged sword and another variation on his Albatros DIII, which, unfortunately is not used in BHH2.
The clouds are from BuckeyeBob's Optional Clouds Mod 5.0 BB Blanket Whispy Clouds2
Off_Alb_DIII_OAW_ace_t_Jasta 18 1917_Personal_Sunburst – This personal skin was made for a non-ace wingman for my serialized story about Berthold’s fictitious wingman, Carl Eber.
The design is based on a statement by Capt. D.S. Hall of No. 57 Squadron describing a fight with Albatros fighters from Jasta 18.
He stated that one of the enemy had a gilt circular marking the shape of a chrysanthemum.
This could be some sort of flower, but since it is guilt, it is probably a sunburst or bursting shell as I have depicted on this skin.
The clouds are from BuckeyeBod's Optional Clouds Mod 5.0 BB Feather Clouds 4
off_Fokker_DVII_OAW_ace_t_Jasta 78b 1918_Personal_Skin – just a pattern that I found on the net that I thought was compatible with this Staffel’s marking practices.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old: Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them.
