Down loaded v4.13.4 from GOG. I need to change it back to v4,12.2 in order install BAT. I went to the SAS website and tried both tools to change the version with no success. When I downloaded the game I put the game in C:\Games\IL-1946 4.13.4. I downloaded the zip files unzipped them and first put them in the I!-1946 4,13,4 folder and then opened the file that is supposed to change the game to the 4,12,2 version. I got a DOS screen that said it could not find a bunch of paths and then it ended with enjoy 4,12.2. When I opened the game using the shortcut, I was still at v4,13,4. The instructions say to put it in the root folder. I am at a loss what to do next. Which folder is the root? I don’t see one, I did try the alternate tool with the same lack of success. Not sure what to do next!! HELP!

Root folder is just your main folder. ( you said it was C:\Games\IL-1946 4.13.4.)
Is the splash screen coming up when you start the game ? What version does it say in the bottom left ? 4.13.4. ?

Follow these instruction carefully. 4.13 unpatcher SAS

P.S. When you do successfully downgrade to 4.12.2, copy and paste that folder to a safe place, so you have a fresh copy for future use. It will save you the hassle of downgrading in the future.

What screwed me up here was that I kept using the same shortcut. When I used the “new” shortcut it came out as v4.12.2 which is correct, Now time to download the BAT. I have downloaded and unzipped the first 6 zip files, but then started to wonder about the instructions which says to move the zip files to the same location. WinZip wants to unzip the files. So far have downloaded the first 6 zip files, unzipped them and put them in the same folder. Is this correct?

Yes that sounds correct. I usually put all unzipped files together in a folder. Left click on the first one, press the shift key, and left click on the last one. Right click, extract all. It will create a new folder, and those are your files ready for install. You only have to start the first file, direct it to you game folder, it will carry on on it's own and install all the files.

After install, your new shortcut will be the IL-2 Selector. Go into your game folder, find the IL-2 Selector, right click, sent to desktop (create short cut). That will be how you start your game from now on.

Thanks, that helped. BAT now installed.
Still have a couple of questions. According to the WAW guidelines I need to check the .dll files. I see that the AVRO Lancaster MkIII, 1942 is just blue background. It appears that I have both of the dll files already installed. Do I just try renaming them one at a time to see if I can get it to work? I checked on the two downloads and the winzip said they were duplicates of what was already in the file.

Also not sure how to install DGen for WAW...it appears to be another .zip file. Do I just unzip and put it in the folder or is there an application I need to run?

Where do I find the European theater campaigns? I dont see any in the BAT. Do I need to install 4.2 and 4.2.1 ? is that where I find them? if so, then where do I find the two updates?

Sorry for all the dumb questions...but am making slow progress....thanks so much!

I am not sure about the .dll files. I know the step you are talking about, but my settings did not need to be changed.

This is the BAT Dgen for WAW. BAT Dgen for WAW BAT Dgen comes with many dynamic campaigns. When starting a new pilot career, you will see [Dgen-WAW] before the name of the campaigns.

Follow the installation instructing carefully.

Yes you should install 4.2 and 4.2.1. Do that before installing the BAT Dgen.

Here you can find many user made European campaigns. BAT WAW user missions and campaigns

Have installed v4.0, v4.2 and 4.2.1 they seem to work perfectly. Now trying to install DGen for B.A.T. and BAT_DGen_patch6.0. I have created two new folders (DGEN BAT and DGEN Patch 6.0), have unzipped the files and placed them in the appropriate folder. The instructions for DGEN BAT says to remove the DGEN.EXE and the DGEN folder and I see no instructions for the Patch. I found the DGEN folder but cannot find the DGEN.exe file. I am holding off on installing DGen until I can find where the dgen.exe file is located and what to do with the patch files.

Can someone tell me where to look for the .exe file and what I should do with the patch files (they look like they go into the DGEN folder, but not sure.

UPDATE: Found the DGEN.exe (was being carried on W10 as an application) so am installing the DGEN for BAT. Still not sure what to do with the Patch6.0 so holding off in fear of screwing up the entire thing.
Did install DGEN for BAT.

thanks,
Snow
