Honestly, some of these new models are a giant PITA to get right, as with the Ju86 I just finished. However, this one was a lot of fun because the extra 3dz's we now have available in the 1.6 line make it all possible. For instance, the double wheels that were standard on the PZL 37 would have been hard to get right as far as the R/S goes but I was able to use the double wheels from the HE-177 and attach them to the landing gear struts with a hardpoint. Same for the engine nacels. They are rather complicated but they were very similar in layout with the nacel on the Swordfish so it was easy to take that piece and adapt it to the PZL. And then there's the individual aircraft numbering that is now possible with a combination of the multi-skin mod (also a 1.6 exclusive) and the extra 3dz's. Heck, right now I'm working with Iron Mike on upgrading a bunch of Russian low res planes so that they don't have any mirrored textures plus they will have individual aircraft numbers. And now on to the Fi167........................which. since it's a biplane. will probably be one of those aforementioned PITA models.

You are welcome. These last two came out very nice, if I do say so myself . Turns out, the more models we have, the easier it is to adapt them to new ones. For instance, the PZL 37 uses a double wheel setup which was unusual for WWII planes. Fortunately, I already made an upgraded HE177 from the original model produced by "The Firm". It has double wheels too so all I had to do was shrink them a bit for the new model. The tail was very close in profile to the Hampton tail so that's where it came from, the fuselage wasn't much different than the Beaufort and the wings came from the Hudson. In the case of the Fi167, I used the Stuka fuselage, the Gordon's tail, the wings from the Gauntlet and the cockpit and wing view.from the B534. Oh and Flying Tiger had a naval skin for the Hi-Res Stuka so I adapted it to this model. (It also has a functional tail hook that only deploys when landing on a carrier. Which means someone is going to have to build the Graf Spee. ) Of course, there's plenty of 3dz sorcery that needs to be applied to the new models to get all the pieces to play nice together but it's sure a lot faster than building from scratch. FYI, I built a PLZ 49 (What-If) plane from the PZL 37. It was a proposed upgrade that never got built.................until now. It features bigger engines and more guns for self- defense and ground attack.

For Do17K see this http://www.letletlet-warplanes.com/2008/04/30/dornier-do17k-history/It seems the strafer versions had (at least) 2 x 20 mm canon installed in the nose (this version had a longer nose and more powerful radial engines), and a more varied ground attack bomb load. The Hurricane IV was the last major production modification of the Hurricane series. The main feature was a new wing design, which could mount eight RP-3 rockets or two 40 mm Vickers S guns for attacking ground targets. May have been equipped with more powerful Merlin 24 or 27 engines, but it is disputed. An additional 350 lb (159 kg) of armour protection for the pilot, radiator, and fuel tanks and a dust filter was added for operation in desert environments. Used as a ground attack aircraft in the European theater until being replaced by the Hawker Typhoon in 1944. can be kitted out as follows: 2 x 40 mm Vickers S cannons, wing-mounted (15 rpg = 30 total) 8 x RP-3 rockets 2 x 250 lb G.P. 250 lb Mk.IV bombs (500 lb total) 2 x 500 lb G.P. 500 lb Mk.IV bombs (1,000 lb total) The two 40 mm guns on the wings can equip high explosive or armour piercing rounds The usual Hurricane wing armament is reduced to 2 x 7.7 mm Browning .303 machine guns.
