I am just curious since I have noticed it takes a lot of bullets to take down a fighter.

These aeroplanes are made with a lot of wood and canvas... unless you hit the pilot or something vital, many of your rounds will go straight through it doing little damage.

Seems to sum it up nicely.

We have set up the damage over years of honing. MvR took 900 rounds to shoot down Hawker for example. Then you can get someone like René Fonck taking down an enemy with 5 rounds frequently. Both can happen in WOFF.

Get in close (very).

On a side note even a top Ace like Fonck claimed 142 victories but only got 75 awarded, as sobering thought for those struggling with the claims office in WOFF wink

Lol, words to live by.
Just make sure you're somewhere between close enough that you don't have to aim and far enough away that you're not colliding into them.
