Gecko and Ankor appear to be still tinkering away at the CFS3 engine to add improvements. Farther horizon, distant clouds, improved water textures, etc.

No guarantee they will be completed or incorporated into WOTR/WOFF but one can always hope.

It looks pretty good, and I really enjoyed that video!

Really nice looking video and shots. But at this point, the only thing missing now is volumetric clouds. It just kills the vibe when your flying to pass through the old bitmap cross style clouds. But because they look as amazing as they do, and the rest of the scenery below you is so incredible, it's hidden well.

I hope someday that will change.

They've already been developed for CFS3 by Ankor but were never optimised - the FPS hit was deemed too high. Maybe they can be made to work in the future?

So close, but still out of reach with the true 3d clouds. Maybe someday for the DX11 and 3D clouds but in the meantime, I appreciate every new improvement they come up with and are kind enough to share with the rest of us.

I'll say it again, I'm immensely grateful to all who improve this sim and share their labors with this "less-able" one!
