I'm watching this. Wish it were in the Pacific, night battles vs Imperial Japanese Navy, Naval gun support for Marines on Guadalcanal etc

Yeah, thanks Wormfood. I'll also be holding off for a while.
Can you tell me if there are other things to do other than hunt subs? i.e surface engagement of other ships?
EV's are the Devils matchbox.

I been watching it a while but to me its too linear and shallow when compared to older sims like Destroyer Command which had far more to offer years ago compared to this game. This game is not open world at all. You do not leave ports or return. You are stuck in linear missions on rails hunting a uboat, thats all it has to offer.
The problem these days is developers just want to cash in on a game/sim with a lot less to offer and little effort expended. I will pass. Its sad how far technology has progressed and yet most of the sims being released these days (the very few available) can't come close to even being on a level field in regards to features and content when compared to the classics. They are light years behind the past. I hate to say it but DC, The GNBNA series, SH series, and TF1942 have this new game beat in every way imaginable except pretty graphics which does not make the game. It can look real life but without playablity, variety, features like campaigns or some sort of dynamic modeliing, and freedom it falls flat on the floor.
Also this developer has already debated with people on steam forums requesting open roaming, docking, and leaving ports but his excuse was that it was boring and that sims in the past have already done this which is a lame excuse to ignore it.
