Just a day before official review coverage, we were given final scores for Cinebench benchmarks (and much more). This post is a little teaser of what will be shared tomorrow by reviewers from around the world.

By the way: As mentioned earlier in this thread, if one games at 1440p or 4K the CPU does not make a real difference one can "see and feel". Buying one of these advanced CPU setups from AMD or Intel is for "the fun of it" or for "other applications".
If on a budget, probably the best current gaming cost/benefit solution for many persons would be to grab one of the current generation GPUs on a good sale price.

FWIW: I got all the parts at Manufacturer's List Price or less at Newegg. The Motherboard was already sold out when I checked the second day it was on sale -- glad I grabbed one quickly when first offered -- without much research (just went by the reputation of the maker). I noticed some places were selling at above list price already.
The very classy appearing motherboard has slightly more features than I thought. And room for 4 M.2 SSDs (I only expected 3) -- two of which are to the new PCIe Gen 5 standard. Its slightly larger than a standard ATX motherboard - not all standard size cases work with it.
I have "all the pieces" for the new system. Still in assembly mode -- mainly due to lost time trying cases to find one that fit (among the many cases in my basement electronics work room).

Leaked AMD desktop CPU roadmap confirms Ryzen 7000 X3D series
AMD is to continue offering Ryzen 5000 series alongside Ryzen 7000 this year and in 2023. The mainstream desktop platform will receive an update with 3D V-Cache (X3D) variants as well, those are listed as TBA (to be announced).
AMD Ryzen G-Series should also get an update next year, most likely in a form of Ryzen 7000G series. We can only see a block starting in the second half of the year, suggesting that 5000G is to be succeeded by then.
As noted above, my R5-7600X is a place-holder as I await the R7-7800X3D or similar. I do not expect to see a difference in games at 4K.
Two notes about my build: Getting my Motherboard to fit a case was more trouble than necessary because the MB is 1 inch wider than a standard ATX motherboard. Also, the heat sinks over the 4 M.2 SSDs interfered with reliable seating of a couple GPUs -- so, I modified one heat sink with a saw. My newer RX6900XT had no problem.
The R5-7600X tests out at about 25% faster than my R5-5600X -- in CPU-Z. Also, it has a nice performing "small" GPU built in for office work (not for gaming like a 7600G would have).
I'm doing a virtually-clean install of all my software (including ~400 games) and all my hardware is new -- so, this build is progressing slowly.

Samsung will probably be making chips for AMD, Nvidia, and/or Intel at future performance nodes.

Samsung targets mass production of 1.4nm process technology by 2027
Samsung targets mass production of 2nm process technology by 2025 and 1.4nm by 2027
Samsung plans to expand its production capacity for the advanced nodes by more than 3X by 2027
Non-mobile applications including HPC and automotive expected to exceed 50% of its foundry portfolio by 2027
As previously noted, the "node size" (e.g. 1.4nm) is a shorthand way to indicate chip "performance" (smaller indicates better performing) -- it does not necessarily indicate node "actual size".

NVIDIA Shuts Down All GPU Operations & Main Office In Russia
NVIDIA Quits Russia Once & For All, Main Office & GPU Operations Shut Down
Intel reportedly faced a similar crisis with its own employees in Russia who were heading the team behind the drivers for the Arc GPUs. ... the driver was delayed by several months.
This more or less marks the end of NVIDIA in Russia and it is likely that other companies such as Intel and AMD, will also take similar actions if they have offices or workspaces operating within the country.
On both, I play games at 4K and maximum graphics settings when available (exception Anti-Aliasing 2x or Low).
Playing the Assassin's Creed Odyssey graphics Benchmark the new system gets roughly 110% to 120% higher FPS (e.g. 87FPS average and 137FPS maximum versus 41FPS average and 60FPS maximum) -- these numbers change a bit with each run of the Benchmark. The CPU alone gets 25% higher in CPU-Z benchmark. I assume this is typical or even a bit slow for this set of components -- given how I set it up.

ZOTAC confirms GeForce RTX 4090 pricing, from $1600 to $1700
NVIDIA ‘requested’ all board partners to offer at least one card at MSRP, which is 1599 USD. It appears that board partners are eager to comply to this request.
Hopefully, ... we will indeed see RTX 4090 at MSRP not just for one day, but for weeks to come.
NVIDIA launches its GeForce RTX 4090 GPU on October 12th. The reviews are to be released next week as well.

Micron Announces $100 Billion Investment to Build Chip Factory in New York
Micron has not specified when it will begin building the New York plant, but it does say the first $20 billion of its planned investment in the project will be complete this decade.
They may provide AMD with chips. Or, they may provide AMD with competition. In any case, they will compete with other chip manufacturers in the USA. Competition is good.

AMD B650 motherboards are now available, pricing starts at $159
There is no sign of the promised $125 AMD AM5 boards yet, but the prices for B650 series indeed start much lower than premium X670. The cheapest boards have a MSRP of $159.9, but the majority of designs are oscillating around $200
Gigabyte will offer B650M DS3H motherboard for as low as $159.99, but this design is not listed by Newegg yet.
AMD has released its next-gen CPU platform before Intel, all four AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs and all four 600 series chipsets are now on sale. Intel has thus far only confirmed the launch of its 13th Gen Core K-Series SKUs and enthusiast Z790 motherboards on October 20th.

A post earlier in this thread noted that the Geforce RTX 4080 12GB specifications were more like a 4070 model. Nvidia apparently agrees.

Board partners are now ‘unlaunching’ GeForce RTX 4080 12GB from their websites
Yesterday, NVIDIA announced it is canceling its RTX 4080 12GB graphics card, an AD104 based model with 25% fewer cores than the proper 16GB card with AD103 GPU. The company is now likely to launch the same card under a different name
NVIDIA was quick to remove any mention of the 12GB model from all graphs, documentations, product pages. This took less than 24 hours.
Goodbye RTX 4080 12GB, hello RTX 4070 Ti?
A leaker noted the price changes over the years -- for similar series 80 model cards -- in the attached image. The current pricing is relatively high.

An older article indicating when the AMD "X3D" Gaming CPUs will launch and rumored performance.

AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D/R9 7950X3D Launching in Q1 2023 with up to 200MB of Cache [Rumor]
For gamers, though, the real prize will be Raphael-X, the 3D V-Cache variant of Zen 4. According to Moore’s Law is Dead, AMD plans to launch a duo of Zen 4 3D parts early next year in the form of the Ryzen 7 7800X3D and the Ryzen 9 7950X3D. Both these chips will feature 3D stacked L3 cache chips atop the base CCD, each packing at least 64MB of cache for a total of 100MB for the former and an insane 200MB for the latter.
You can expect a lofty gaming performant upgrade from these cache-loaded processors. Tom believes that deltas of up to 30% between Zen 4 and Zen 4 V-Cache are highly possible. That stacks up to a massive ~40-50% over the existing Ryzen 5000 offerings and a double-digit lead over Intel’s Alder Lake and Raptor Lake.
